  1. If Bloom were still in charge you know he'd be shopping in the "shot in the dark" category.
  2. I agree that Montgomery is overrated and not worth what he will likely get. I prefer Snell but would even have reservations on him at the cost. I would go ALL IN on Yamamoto and trade for a young cost controllable starter. My fear is though after Breslow STOLE the reliever from Seattle that either Houk {more likely} or Whitlock {less likely} will stay in the rotation along with Pivetta, Sale, Bello, and ONE SP from either FA or trade.
  3. into the Friday night whisky??
  4. and they should give Devers the golden BOOT award for his glove work at 3B
  5. i am not on either side of this because I know the Sox won't be signing him but I agree Lindsey Hill should be in jail. Bauer will be pitching in Japan again next year and unless Henry is changing his philosophy we will be signing a few veteran lower cost starters.
  6. not surprising since it has ben almost nothing other than shortstops we have been drafting for several years now
  7. i wouldn't trade an f them although I dont know that much about Anthony
  8. but the least of the ones I would trade. Sign Yamamoto and another SP in FA and be done with it.
  9. Why are we wasting time here on 1B and Bobby Dalbec? Casas is the 1B and Dalbec can simply be released as he has had numerous chances. Let's focus on what the Sox REALLY need and that is PITCHING, PITCHING, and then MORE pitching.
  10. Story was a terrible signing. He has given us 2 years of nothing and he's not getting any younger. Another Bloom blunder
  11. maybe a reliever but not a top SP
  12. Story with his contract is not really a trade option and I don't see Yorke bringing that much back t least on his own either.
  13. and what comes of Yoshida? Given his contract I don't see a whole lot of trade value
  14. i just don't know where Yorke would player once Mayer gets here
  15. still awaiting a reply to my followup post to this thread
  16. Signing Chapman is a complete waste of $$$. Like it or not we are stuck with Devers at 3B for the foreseeable future.
  17. So let me know if I have your view correct. The Sox overall pitching is good enough to get to a WS so we can stand pat with where are currently at pitching wise???
  18. As you say "no f***ing s***" but the Sox have tried to win for far too long with below average SP.
  19. i agree that would be the strategy for Bloom but the Sox need to go ALL IN on Yamamoto. Not only is he better but he fits the age group that Bloom was trying to assemble. At 30 with that type of workload behind him would steer me away unless it was a 2-3 yr deal at a reasonable cost. Breslow needs to make SIGNIFIGANT upgrades to the Sox SP. I don't see Nola becoming available and Snell would be costly. I think Yamamoto and a tree for a young mLB ready SP would be the best way to go.
  20. 20 for 20 NON PITCHING makes sense?????/
  21. well with position players at least
  22. new to this conversation but why is it only 10 million? Is that all we had to spend on a SP?
