  1. they already have enough scrubs to fill in for him
  2. they are NOT going to sign Snell at least until May 1st when the draft compensation is off the table. In reality all teams should wait for that date now. Why risk losing the draft picks for an extra 4-6 weeks of Snell? It is getting close to the point that neither he nor Montgomery would be ready to start the season if they don't sign soon.
  3. along with any other decent FA signings
  4. yes that too for sure
  5. in any event Montgomery is not enough to get the team into true contention and i would not lock into him on a lengthy deal.
  6. You can't have it both ways Moon. Montgomery is at BEST a #2 SP but really more like a 3. The max I give him is a 3 yr deal with an option for a 4th.
  7. Even if JH signs Montgomery he will be sure to dock him for days missed to date in ST
  8. it will be interesting to see who has the better season Sale or Giloto
  9. would we have been happy if the most games Pedro or Schilling won was 10?
  10. like maybe 85 wins rather than 80
  11. I think the Sox will sign him too but as you point out a 10-11 SP is hardly an ace. It will help some but it is still likely they finish at best 4th in the AL East
  12. yeah let's plan the parade--NOT
  13. who cares-they BOTH stink
  14. yeah because then Sox need to plan for the 2025 FA SP market. FULL THROTTLE in 2025 baby
  15. Hey if the name fits
  16. at this point do you really think John Henry cares what the fans think?
  17. i agree that the total wins will be around 80 and that the team will remain in the mushy middle and still have an outside shot at the last wild card under the expanded playoff format. Hence they won't be dealing away any assets at the deadline because they will saying they are still in it.
  18. i thought Sandlin doesn't require a 40 man spot so does he count against the cap?
  19. Schreiber deal shaves close to another 1.2 million off the payroll. Scrooge Henry should be very happy today
  20. or at least hope they can develop. still i like the trade
  21. i actually don't mind this trade. Sandlin seems to have some potential and has a wipeout slider. Of course Henry loves the payroll savings too.
  22. yeah they are content with finishing last again so long as people keep showing up
  23. that is my point. Initially I would not have signed Bauer because of his "me' attitude but the Sox seem to be counting pennies and Bauer would come very cheap there is no question I would take a flier on him.
  24. that should be pretty evident by now isn't it?
