i never said that Bloom didn't improve the farm. heck with 3 last place finishes in 4 years i would HOPE that he would have improved the farm. Not to mention he had the Mookie trade and the FA's who all walked away for nothing. Fact is that we have no top P prospects { NONE} will impact any contributions the farm position players provide.

The issue is not really one of DD vs Bloom. It is an issue of JH refusing to allow spending $$$ on top pitching. Having said that there is simply no comparison btwn DD and Bloom. One has a long track record of producing top calibre teams and the other simply has the experience of bringing the coffee to the REAL brains of the Tampa model who is now in LA.

why ? just because it seems we have 3 top position player prospects that are as yet unproven? Is that the reward for 3 last place finishes in 4 years under Bloom? And ZERO real pitching prospects.

There is no way Henry approves more than a 1 yr deal for Paxton

Because 1) he is familiar there. 2) Texas is a winning team. 3) there are no taxes in Texas. Need anymore reasons?

If those are now our options I would simply pass. None of them move the needle near enough. I would probably take a flier on Paxton again on something like a 1 yr 5-7 million dollar deal since he has proven to be decent when healthy. The 2024 Sox are going nowhere anyway so we may as well stick with the options we already have and then draft another SS next June to build up our mighty farm system

well thankfully Stroman wants to pitch for the NYY and is listed as the favorite to sign there

Not a chance. I’d rather sign Paxton or Clevinger than Stroman. None of them will make much of a difference anyway but Henry might consent to a 1yr deal if they are still available before ST starts and the price is low enough
