  1. yes, for a backup he is ok. nevertheless, he is the worst catcher in the league.
  2. too bad Brez didn't trade Devers for Ryan, instead of a grab bag of prospects and a salary dump.
  3. i certainly like the fact that he added Bregman, Chapman and Crochet. now, what he needs to do is get Chapman back for at least one more year, Bregman for multiple and add a #2 starter.
  4. Jim Ed and Devers through age 27 season. Jim Ed leads in nearly every significant catergory and this is with one less season than Devers. adding another season for Rice and he leads in everything but doubles, BB and strikeouts.
  5. i'm not sure he's worthy of a top prospect.
  6. Wong is not fine. he is literally one of the worst catchers in MLB. he has 1 rbi. he's 0-28 with RISP and his OPS+ is 11. LOLOL.
  7. sounds like Devers was a clubhouse cancer. glad we got rid of him.
  8. and does what is asked to help the team, even it means changing positions.
  9. they still should have gotten better players in the deal. horrible from that stand point.
  10. then i guess the Sox committed three opinions yesterday that nearly cost them the game.
  11. yep. another great game by Crochet. i gotta admit, i wasn't that sold on him when the trade was made. credit to Brezlow for signing him.
  12. yeah, maybe.......the thing is, they do absolutely nothing for us now. Priester could be used RIGHT NOW.
  13. too bad the idiots in the FO didn't trade Devers for a starter instead of a salary dump and a bunch of prospects that will never pan out.
  14. too bad they traded Quinn Priester for a guy hitting .206 in A ball and an A ball pitcher that may or may not ever make it anywhere. the Brewers are still laughing at Bres over that one.
  15. no s***. the Giants gave up less than that for 10 years of Devers.
  16. someone might give up more than that, but there is no way in hellsly i'd give up those two for TWO MONTHS of Helsley.
  17. i love it. when it comes to being a team guy, he is the Un-Devers.
  18. i don't understand why more guys, who would never otherwise make it, don't try throwing a knuckleball -a pitch that has to be easier on the arm. guys like Wakefield, the Niekros, Charlie Hough, etc. had extended successful knuckleball careers.
  19. not to mention the recent great pitching by our starters, Chapman being Chapman and Breggie coming back. i really, really hope they extend/resign him whatever. an 8 game winning streak (and 10 of 11) sure brings out the optimism.
  20. ya' think? i'm not so sure considering they never tried Devers at first base.
  21. Henry would trade Ted Williams for a "horde of prospects" if he was on today's roster.
  22. credit where credit is due: Breslow did a nice job of getting Crochet, Bregman, Chapman and Varvaez though I think the jury is still out on Dobbins. Bloom did good with Abreu, Mayer, Whitlock, Ref and Roman Anthony though his signings of Story and Yoshida have been wide regarded as awful. though Story seems to possibly be on the road to redemption. and Masa may be as well. time will tell. and just to be clear, Duran, Rafaela, and Bello were signed by Dombrowski.
