  1. no, not at all. wonder what he's wanting.
  2. Red Sox showing "interest" in AJ Minter.
  3. I would love to see them get Quinn Matthews but i'm not trading Casas for him. i know Hence is rated higher. not sure why though. and Jimmy Crooks has the potential at catcher. dude can hit.
  4. conversely, my interest in the Red Sox is falling.
  5. send this to Breslow. apparently him and the clowns that work for him have no freakin clue about this.
  6. Henry will offer him $5,000, a 1984 Buick Lesabre, a rick of seasoned firewood and a couple Sonic coupons. then Brez will tell us how they made a legitimate offer before he signs with the Dodgers.
  7. oh, i get it, i was just saying that there needs to be a better way to quantify a "win". it's BS the way the do it now.. it's been around since the beginning, so i don't think it's going away.
  8. there should definitely be a better way, and like Moon said, historical games could even be reanalyzed.
  9. fourth in revenue and eleventh in payroll. hmmmm.....
  10. didn't think about that. you're probably right.
  11. as it stands, W/L is no perfect measure, but there should be a better way to quantify a "win" for a pitcher -especially since it's a stat that's not going away and so many people look to.
  12. how many games would Steve Carlton won in 1972 with a decent team behind him? amazing that he took 27 of the teams 59 wins.
  13. true, but i do wish there was a better way to award the "win" to somebody to make it more important. Sox pitcher pitches 8 no-hit innings and leaves with his team ahead 1-0, then a reliever -lets call him Ryan Braiser- enters in the top of the ninth, gives up a run to tie the game. then the Sox win in the bottom of the ninth and Braiser gets the win. WTF? it's stupid.
  14. sorta the same, but i'd pour over and dissect the box score in the paper the next day. my brother had a paper route, so i'd have access to the papers before all of my neighbors. the good ol' days. LOL.
  15. the first season i remember watching and why i became a Red Sox fan.
  16. yeah, i'm with you on Arenado. i think he's definitely on the downhill side of his career. i'd be ok with swapping him for Yoshida, maybe, but not giving up anything to do so. i don't get this about Cora -his apparent unwillingness to shift Devers off of 3B. it's strange.
  17. it's all good. i've said several times that i wish i had your optimism. every team makes bad decisions and the Sox are no different, but probably my biggest problem with Henry is not spending money that he clearly has to spend. if they were small market and didn't have it to spend then it would be different.
  18. clearly not. like everyone else, i was happy he returned, but i'm not sure it's made any difference.
  19. well said. the decisions they make (and don't make) can be truly mind-numbing. so much for Theo bringing back some sanity to this organization.
  20. spent over $52M, but how much went off the books from last year? isn't payroll about the same or less than last year?
  21. anything else that happens will be via trade. John The Con just can't seem to let his dollars go.
  22. Papi says the Sox never even offered Soto $600M. meaning they were full of s*** about being seriously interested in signing him. f*** you John Henry, you lying POS.
