    thanks for clearing that up. my bad. still glad the Mariners turned it down as it was the Sox basically giving Casas away to clear a bad contract in Yoshida.

    many believe Casas has huge potential and trading him now would be selling low. but, like you said, i'd want to see what he might get dealt for. there was a rumor that the Mariners turned down a Casas for Castillo trade and i'm glad they did. stupid move on their part. but what is equally stupid is the Red Sox even making this offer -basically giving away Casas for nothing when they could have signed a FA for the same money or less. btw... Castillo's bWAR last year was the same as Pivetta.

    yeah, Bell's offer is far too high and your's is more than fair. there's also a chance he sucks too. after all, he doesn't have an extensive history of success.

    i wish they would sign Bregman as i have a gut feeling that this is Raffy's year to miss significant playing time from injuries. or maybe it's just gas.

    i hate to state the obvious, but people naturally want to be associated with success, whether it's friends, businesses or whatever. the Dodgers commitment to winning (versus Henry's commitment to his wallet) has made them very very successful. this success has players wanting to play for them. does any free agent really want to play for the Marlins or A's? what i'm saying is: i don't think location is that much of a factor.

    how they've treated Yoshida. really? they seriously overpaid the guy, but they can't help it if he sucks in the field and at running and in hitting for power. that's on him. they've done everything possible to let him prove he belongs in the big leagues.
