  1. If he can be part of a package to get a good starting pitcher, or a RHH power bat then yes. I said that a year ago when his stock was higher than I believe it is now especially after morphing back somewhat to the Butterfly Man in LF.
  2. Brez traded Sale, and traded for Crochet giving up some prospects, so he will make moves. As for signing a high priced FA to a long term contract I’ll believe it when I see it.
  3. I didn’t say there was any harm, and just said for me I’m waiting. The only thing I’ve said is putting Mayer at SS no matter who stays, and who goes.
  4. With any stater you just worry about getting through the year they’re in without going on the IL.
  5. Chapman had a career year last year. I’m not counting on him to be the same next year.
  6. I’ve been complaining about taking the last 3 years off especially at the trade deadline. Having a losing record, and last place in the division was unacceptable for the amount of times the Red Sox have been there championships, or not. I always have said you can’t always count on the future to turn out like you think, and want it too. Teel is gone, but you can’t count on Roman, Mayer, and KC all turning out to be stars let alone Superstars.
  7. The Dever’s situation has been gone over, and over, and over. Yes Devers was vocal about not wanting to move to 1B though reporters, and Brez, but what no one knows is what conversation Devers had with Cora if any. Cora said he hadn’t talked to Raffy about playing 1B, and said he wasn’t going to, and that to me was the key to the way I’ve looked at this whole situation.
  8. Agree 100%. Especially to if Bregman is in Boston for only 1 year.
  9. Yes we’ve heard you say this many times, but Cora didn’t see it that way, and it Never happened, nor do i believe would have if Casas had stayed on the team, and stayed healthy.
  10. If Roman stays healthy I don’t think you have to wait much longer for him. Mayer, and Campbell may be another story.
  11. I’d wait, and see if Bregman, and, or Story come back to begin with myself, and then see what the plans are for Casas, and, or Masa. Kind of hard to make plans until those situations are worked out IMO.
  12. That’s fine on Abreu, but when will he ever get close to 650? I would rather have someone who plays everyday, and preferably a RHB.
  13. In other words he spews out a bunch of words, but really doesn’t say very much.
  14. We didn’t keep Mookie, Bogey, or Raffy, so Duran, or Abreu shouldn’t be untouchable, or even cause any worry on if either one is kept, or not. Let’s just bring everyone back.🙈
  15. I guess the way I look at it is if the Red Sox spend $40M on 1 player it makes less money available for other needs.
  16. Agree, and definitely not any longer than 3 years.
  17. He was never worth $40M. As I said when the Red Sox signed him he was no Mike Schmidt. Bregman also did his best work batting behind Raffy.
  18. I liked Koufax, and the Dodgers went against the Yankees in the 1963 WS, so I started liking the Dodgers then. I liked Gibson too except for 1967.
  19. Mayer if healthy should be the SS no matter the coming, and going of anyone else IMO.
  20. Been a Dodger fan since the early 60’s watching Sandy Koufax, so love watching them in the postseason. Ring #4 for Mookie would be great.
  21. If Bregman opts out just say thanks, but NO thanks. Bregman has 2 yrs, and $80M on the table no matter how it’s constructed, and doesn’t deserve anymore than that, or for a longer time IMO. Some say he tailed off the last part of the season, but after his hot start, which was done batting behind Raffy he ended up BA wise at 273, which is his career average, and he hadn’t seen that since 2019. Offering him more than $80M, and for longer than 2 more years is not a good deal to me for the Red Sox looking at his whole body of work, and not just his hot start.
  22. I don’t believe the Red Sox ever made a serious play for Soto, the Yam Man, or even Monty a few years ago. Just like there haven’t been much of an effort at the trade deadline the past few years. Full throttle, or stuck throttle?
  23. I guess Paying him $12M+ too will be in his favor.
