Woulda, coulda, shoulda. Like I said more than once after the Red Sox did all their fancy maneuvers to fill out their roster is that they SETTLED, and now we have to see how it all plays out, and if it is good enough.
Masa in LF is no surprise to me. I said a few weeks ago Masa was not going to take up a roster spot just as a backup DH. Masa is also scheduled to play 3 out of the next 5 games. 🤔
Not until he stops being a suspect. Seems like his work ethic up through the system wasn’t all that great either, but his natural talent got him through, but needs more than that to produce in Boston. By all reports he hasn’t been approached about a contract extension one of the few that hasn’t.
That may be all well, and good, but Mayer’s work ethic has been questioned by more than one in the organization, and that’s why Cora has been pushing him, nd that’s why he has to earn it.
Well said. According to a Woo broadcaster I heard in an interview the other day that KC was pretty messed up when he was sent back to WOO, and it took him quite a while before he started hitting. He also looked pretty bad at 1B. As the broadcaster said KC was rushed, and it not only backfired, but set KC back a year that he still hasn’t recovered from. Now it looks like he’s strictly OF, so he has even less options for a job.
That might not be a bad thing if there is no need, or no FT position for him. He was given a job once, so now he has to earn another shot, or wait till someone gets hurt, or traded, and even then he has to produce.
Good take on KC. It just seems that the philosophy of the Red Sox now is to try, and lockup all the young guys like they did with Casas a few years ago. Some will work out, and some won’t.
