  1. I don’t dislike Schwaber, but when people talk about lifetime contracts for a guy who has a high BA of 266,and has only had more than 71 RBI once I think that is way over the top. Like I’ve said before JD is a run producer, and Schwaber is not, and would not sign him to a multi year contract let alone a lifetime contact when money can be spent on a bigger need like pitching.
  2. That’s why they both shouldn’t play defense.
  3. Agree 100%, and some on here wanted to sign him to a lifetime contract. JD is a run producer. Flintstone Schwaber is not.
  4. You’ve been talking about trading JD for weeks now. I would rather have JD for one more year than Fred Flintstone Schwaber. Schwaber can sign elsewhere, and the Sox can spend more to upgrade the pitching. Sorry for those that wanted to sign Schwaber to a lifetime contract, which was sheer lunessey.
  5. I could go for that, but will he?
  6. I think he’s still got a few more years of run production in him 80-100 rbi, which would still be better than Schwaber.
  7. I could go with 2, but not 4.
  8. Think the Yankees would take him?
  9. I could care less about any of those stats. Schwaber has only had over 71 RBI once, and has a high BA of 266 in his career. That is what I look at, and he doesn’t match up to JD as a run producer, which is what I would want.
  10. I’m beginning to think that JD will bolt too. Now the next question is do you replace him with another full time DH, or just use different guys there, and use the money elsewhere. I know people on here have swooned over Schwaber, but you know as well as I do that he is no JD. He will hit as many HR, but is not the hitter, or run producer that JD is, and not someone who you would give a lifetime contract to that some have suggested on here.
  11. Once again don’t compare the 2020 season with anything. I know it makes last season look all the better. I don’t see the Red Sox trading Bogey, or signing any $30 million players this off season either.
  12. OB is just to dry. REM,and Orsillo were great together, and didn’t need a 3 man booth.
  13. You going to get the contracts worked out on both of these guys first?
  14. Jerry was one of a kind, and him, and Orsillo in the booth together were a classic. Glad he got that one final appearance at Fenway against the Yankees to throw out the first ball. RIP REM Dawg.
  15. I’m not a big Vaz fan, but who you going to replace him with?
  16. It’s true we came within spitting distance of a World Series appearance, but we also came within spitting distance of not making the playoffs at all. To say the long term plan was to get there is true, but to say we’re already there will depend on what the front office does the next two years. Right now how many of the current roster will be on the roster two years from now with Bogey, and Raffy at the top of the list. It may pretty much be a whole new team two years from now.
  17. I’m just judging my opinion on how the Sox handled last off season, and this years trading deadline, and listening to Sam Kennedy a few days ago. I’d like to see some of the roster moves, and rosters you have mentioned, but I just don’t think it will happen, and I hope I’m wrong about that.
  18. Agree with you on that. I’ve said before that the next two winters are going to be very interesting, and important to what this team will look like in the future. Lots of big decisions to make.
  19. I don’t think he was brought to Boston to be another Dombrowski.
  20. Bloom’s first big job was trading Mookie.
  21. Sale was recently, but not the others.
  22. That’s assuming the Sox would want to take on a big contract that would go with that big name.
  23. That is not Bloom’s way, so it would have to be the Sox trading a big name like Raffy for top prospects.
  24. The only way you trade for a big name is if you give up a big name like Bogey, or Raffy, which could happen if they don’t intend on paying them. I didn’t like the Sale deal, because of the possible arm problem at the time, which turned out to be TJ.
