  1. Not with a shortened version this year.
  2. Flip JBJ for more prospects? Who else do you think would take on JBJ , and his contract, and give you back prospects. That shows you how bad the Brewers wanted to unload him. The only way I see taking him would be to unload a contract worse than his.
  3. Moon you have been wishing, and hoping for Bloom to make a trade not named JBJ, or sign a big FA since the end of last season, and I’m with you on that, but I still go back to the year end press conference by Kennedy, and Bloom, and I don’t think it’s going to happen. The Sox have signed a bunch of bargain basement pitchers, and got JBJ. You might not get much else.
  4. Not to start the season?
  5. Have to ask Bloom on this one. How many LH do we need in the pen?
  6. Lesser of two evils I guess. DHern I know is young but it’s not like he hasn’t had chances. Bloom must like Diekman and that’s good enough for most. Me I’ll do a wait, and see. I’m more concerned what Barnes will do. Still waiting for contract info on Diekman?
  7. I’ve been a Red Sox fan for over 60 years, so I’m fully aware how many WS the Red Sox have won in that time frame. I never said Henry intentionally put on a s*** show, but the Bobby V year comes mighty close. Hopefully the moves the Red Sox have made this off season works out, and Diekman looks like a good pickup, but I’m not to impressed with the rest, and that goes for JBJ. Time will tell, and there were some good hits last year with some of Bloom’s acquisitions, so hopefully he hits on some again.
  8. I hope part of that rebuild is pitching.
  9. Don’t make it sound like the Red Sox have have had good teams under Henry every year, and haven’t had some s*** shows in the last ten years. 93 L in 2012, and 91 L in 2014, and I believe one of those years was not only a s*** show, but a Clown show with Bobby V. If you are exited about the two lefties they picked up then good for you. No the players Bloom picks up doesn’t have to be $10M+, but it would be better to get out of the bargain basement, and I’m very well aware that if Houck, or Whitlock go into the starting rotation one of those bargain basement pitchers would go to the pen, but I think most on here we’re thinking, or hoping that the Sox would have done more than they have so far like a big FA signing, or trade.
  10. We’ll find out in 3 weeks not only the plan got Barne’s, but Houck, and Whitlock as well.
  11. Maybe also he needed the sticky stuff.
  12. I’m not counting on Barnes for anything, and I don’t think he should be plan A to start the season.
  13. Depth in the pen? Quality depth? Who is going to close? If either Houck, or Whitlock start you have even less quality in the pen.
  14. People have mentioned more than once on here how John Henry has spent money on the payroll, and how they are near the top on the payroll figures, so unless they have tons of injuries in a given year there shouldn’t be ANY bottom on the standing finishes.
  15. I don’t think Duran is in their major plans at this moment, but that could change maybe with a hot ST as short as it is.
  16. I see Whacka as the starter, and Whitlock in the pen. Barnes, or no Barnes can’t be counted on.
  17. Next year could be even more for the roster turnover.
  18. Is your favorite JBJ trade going to be the Sox blockbuster this off season?
  19. I agree with mostly everything, but I guess we just see rebuild a little different. Sale, ERod, Evol, Barnes, and then the O of RaffY, Bogey, JD, Duggy, and Vaz just seems like a lot of talent to not expect a winning team, or called a rebuild, but I see where your coming from With lots of coming, and going of players.
  20. That’s the way it should be.
  21. That’s what he gets paid the big bucks for to get it right more often than wrong.
  22. Everyone comments on every move, and also the net results.
  23. I judge Bloom separately on every move, and then the the final outcome.
  24. Throw out the 2020season, and go from 2019 to 2021. Would you still have thought that 2021 would not be a decent team. To much stock by some were put into 2020.
  25. There is no doubt the 2020 team was kind of split. You had some real good players, and you had some who really sucked, and JD was one of the ones that sucked, but there was enough talent to start the season in 2021 to think they could be decent, and that was not counting on Sale. Getting E Rod back was huge. The bargain basement signings were stop gap last year, and this year too, but I don’t think the Red Sox are in any kind of rebuild. Next year could be the major rebuild.
