I don’t think Duran, or Downs for that matter are in big demand from other teams, or as highly rated as some on here have them.

I’m not thinking Evol would repeat last season, but barring injury would be counted on to be the most consistent. I think Houck could be great, but his inconsistency is holding him back, and needs another pitch. I also want to see Whitlock one more year, before he’s judged on how good he can be.

I’m just concerned about 2022 right now, and at the moment JBJ, and his $12M is a big deal.

I think the only starter you could have been counting on before Sale even got hurt was Evol. Yes people were hoping that Sale could get back to his old self, but nobody knows, and to me he was still a big question mark .Pivetta, Hill, and Whacka all big ifs, and that goes for Barnes, Houck who has been very inconsistent, and just, because Whitlock had a good year last year doesn’t mean he’ll do it again in the pen, or especially a starter.

Losing ERod is even bigger now. You can NEVER have enough pitching. Why the panic. Losing Sale is why.

The Sox have had the DH position pretty well locked up the last 20 years with Ortiz, and JD, so now maybe it is time not to have a full time DH, and spread the AB around. Of course you have to have the bats first to do that.

I think you pretty much nailed it, but I just think we need more than just 1 solid SP. I still say it makes it look worse now that ERod was not resigned, but like you I’m not surprised at all that things have gone down the way things have.

I know he batted higher in the order, but he’s still not a run producer like JD.

Weeks before he can even start throwing again. Makes not resigning ERod look even worse now. Luckily we got Whacka, and Hill to bridge the gap till he gets back.

Do I need to go back to the year end press conference at last seasons end again? Bloom, and Kennedy told you what they were going to do, which was following last years plan, which to me meant more bargain basement shopping, which they have done, and no big FA signings, and not even there own in Bogey, and Raffy.

Maybe he didn’t think he could crack the Red Sox outfield, and beat out Bloom’s high priced talent like JBJ.

Freeman may makes sense to you, but does it make sense financially to JH? That is what is important here, and so far like I keep saying he’s not opening his wallet very wide anytime soon.

You are judging what’s normal, and sane? Why didn’t you correct the fist statement Matt Olson to the Braves? Everyone knew it was a trade, so if everyone knew it was a trade then everyone knew that wanted to know the contract signed was after a trade. You just think you did some great thing in saying it wasn’t a FA signing. EVERYONE already knew that wanted to know. I’ll ask again who didn’t already know on here? Most of all I’m not mad just, because you thought you had to clarify something. I have seen enough on here to know that things sometimes words have to be worded just right , or some go in a tizzy. The best example of that is Moon’s legendary head scratcher that some went on, and on about for sometime, so think I’m mad all you want, but it would have to be a more important source than you to do that, and even then it wouldn’t happen especially about the trivial subject that you thought you was correcting an injustice. Laughable at best.

And what difference in the big scheme of things does it matter if it was a FA signing, or a trade, and a signing? It doesn’t. Like I said before the ones on here that are keeping up on things already knew that a trade was made, and that’s why I just said in the first place Matt Olson to the Braves, and the ones not knowing what was going it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. I know it wouldn’t have matted to me one way, or the other, but I guess you felt the need just in case someone needed the clarification. Give yourself a pat on the back for everyone that you helped understand.
