    Enough to see that Bregman, and Story made a lot of bad throws to 1B that you won’t see in any stats. Franchy Strange Glove isn’t there anymore. He was the last great defensive 1Bmen the Red Sox have had.

    I can’t see at all the Red Sox thinking Romy is the FT 2B going into 2026.

    That’s all they were officially charged with. There were some kind OS along the way, the slew of Red Sox 1B saved them a number of times also.

    Not convinced he’d be worth any more than 2 more years either considering the money it would take to keep him.

    I don’t think there is Any talk whatsoever amongst the Red Sox brain trust of moving Story to 3B in any circumstance. SS/2B, IL will be his residence if he returns.

    Was beating the Red Sox enough for Boone to keep his job, or is he gonzo?

    I think Casas had a better chance of being traded, which supposedly the Red Sox tried to do last offseason with Seattle than losing his 1B job to Raffy. If Casas isn’t injured last year I don’t believe there would have been any talk of Raffy at 1B unless Casas completely sucked, and his usual slow start lasted all year.

    I don’t think the Red Sox have done it the way they have the past few years of not having more of a set lineup, because they wanted to, but they have needed to due to injuries, and No reliable backups. Story was mostly out for a couple of years, because of injuries, Casas has been out mostly out for a couple years, because of injuries, so there was revolving doors at those two positions, because of it. If Story, and Casas isn’t injured those two positions would be set full time. 2B has also been a revolving door, because no one has won the job full time. I also think Mayer would have a full time position right now if he hadn’t of lost so much development time, because of injury.

    It always amazes me when different people can look at the same situation, and read it completely differently. I do it myself. Also to see different things to fit their narrative, and can go to different lengths to do so like players speaking up, or not speaking up. I could be completely wrong about all this, but everyone seems to have an opinion, and I know mine is in the vast minority. Casas spoke up, and most likely got reprimanded, and maybe no one else dared to speak up. Then again you may be right that no one was going to miss him. Could be one, or both ways at the same time.

    Did you expect one? There are a lot of young players on the team. Bregman just got there, and took Raffy’s job, and Story hadn’t been much involved the past few years, so who was going to speak up. Casas spoke up, and got talked to about it, so it doesn’t surprise me at all that no one spoke up, and doesn’t really mean anything IMO.

    Being immature by Raffy I agree with, but that doesn’t make Raffy a bad person. On the other hand Brez didn’t come across as to good either, and the whole situation was embarrassing to the team, and i don’t think that impressed anyone including JH.

    I don’t think, and definitely not sure there was any discussion whatsoever between Cora, and Bogey about Bogey moving off SS to accommodate Story. Cora is pretty loyal to his players, and especially Bogey, and Bogey was the Red Sox SS, and i wouldn’t blame Bogey one bit for not even wanting to move to another position for an outsider. No discussion whatsoever IMO.

    It was a personality clash between Raffy, and Brez, and Brez didn’t like Raffy telling him to do his job, and I don’t think there was anymore to it than that.

    Who was Bogey asked by to move to 3B after the Story signing? A reporter? Cora? Cora is the only one that would have mattered.

    Or think they know. Being in a contract year might have been a motivation also. It certainly turned out better than expected that’s for sure.

    But there were so many on here that shouted Devers Forevers, Devers Forever, Devers Forever!🤔

    Story had trouble throwing from SS, so i wouldn’t even contemplate moving Story to 3B, nor to I think the Red Sox will either. 2B to me is where he would be more suited for. I also hope DHam isn’t even being considered for a backup.

    Who plays 3B? TBD. Who plays SS? TBD. Who plays 2B? TBD. Who plays 1B? TBD. Who is the DH? TBD. Seems like there is lots of TBD as it stands right now for 2026.
