  1. I know we did, but I was talking about the crack Boston press.
  2. After not playing in the last three postseason just getting in the Red Sox should be willing to play everybody, and anybody. The AL is so flawed this year that anyone who gets in has a chance to win. This is uncharted waters for most of the Red Sox players so getting swept in the first round, or sweeping the first round wouldn’t surprise me at all, so bring anyone on especially the Yankees.
  3. Never heard why Masa was capable to DH in ST, but didn’t DH in Woo, or anywhere else for such a long time. I don’t recall anyone asking either
  4. #2 was the puzzling part since he was able to DH in ST, and then didn’t get an AB in a real game for a long time.
  5. I am not a NOshida/GOshida guy, and never have been, but having said that for a guy who DH’d in ST, and could have DH’d for the Red Sox since opening day instead Masa was shipped off to parts unknown, and didn’t even play for a long time due to the roster construction it’s good to see him produce, and help the Red Sox.
  6. ALL teams are so flawed especially in the AL that the postseason is completely open, and anyone in can win. Yankees/Red Sox in Yankee stadium in October should be a must watch TV for everyone, and let the chips fall where they may. Red Sox against anyone else just isn’t the same.
  7. Mayer has lost valuable developmental time the last few years, and this year lost a golden opportunity to show what he can do due to injuries. Troubling sign of being injury prone at a young age. Agee on other teams having interest if Mayer was available.
  8. Brez will get judged on everything, and ultimately the final results. Brez has been more aggressive like trading Sale, and Raffy that I don’t believe Bloom would have done, but he’s followed Bloom’s roadmap at the trade deadline.
  9. Best case scenario is the Red Sox just take care of business, and win, and then you don’t have to worry what anyone else does.
  10. Extending Chapman was a good move, but I don’t think he can be expected to repeat what he did this year.
  11. Roman, and Mayer were a lot more ready to go than Campbell, and Mayer should have started the season at 2B IMO. As for Anthony there really wasn’t any room for him as the roster, and OF was constructed to start the season.
  12. I’ve been saying keep Whitlock in the BP ever since the end of the 2021 season, and Houck too.
  13. I would say this sums up things pretty well. Lowe just fell into the Red Sox lap, so it wasn’t like Brez was beating down the bushes out looking for him. It was Brez who couldn’t work it out with Raffy, and I don’t believe no one else, and I agree the Red Sox would have been better off this year by keeping him.
  14. That usual 3rd option in the fork in the road at the trade deadline again that leads to nowhere .For a team that always needs starting pitching, and has for years trading away Priester has been a big miss too. The bad injury juju that hovers over Fenway has reared its ugly head once again.
  15. If Bregman wants to opt out after this year then say thanks for this year, and let him go. The three years was long enough, and the $40M per was to much anyway.
  16. If not there should be. The D has just been plain awful, and SOFT. Aggressive man to man last year to a soft zone this year, which is a far cry from anything resembling a good D. Word is that Freeman is getting more involved with the D this week.
  17. Alex Bregman is a career 272 hitter, which is what he’s hitting now, and hasn’t hit above that since 2019. Bregman has been a good addition to the Red Sox, but as I said when the Red Sox signed him he’s no Mike Schmidt, and he’s not worth $40M. Bregman got off to a great start this year with the bat unlike last year when he got off to a terrible start, and now he’s leveled off, and hitting pretty much where he should be. Bregman is not a 300 hitter, and except for a few years not even a 280 hitter.
  18. The 1B whomever it was save both more than a few throwing errors this year also.
  19. I’ll say it again. ND was overrated, and over ranked to start the season, and NOT a top ten team. Giving up 41 pts at home is just Wow!
  20. Like I said a few weeks ago ND was ranked to high with an Inexperienced QB. While ND made a good comeback this is not a top ten football team. It was said before the game how deep ND was, and that may be true, but they don’t have the talent of a year ago especially on D. Last night there was plenty of Bad play calling on both sides of the ball. As one writer after the game said they didn’t know there was a new rule put in for this year that you couldn’t throw the ball more than three yards down the field. Carr is no Leonard either, and won’t last very long trying to be a runner. New D coordinator who just kept rushing 4 after Freeman said at halftime they had to put more pressure on Beck. Love might as well sat out the first half too. Carr will have more growing pains this year like IG penalties, but he’ll get better, but still this won’t be a top ten team this year. I think Angeli should have been given a shot even before this year, but it didn’t happen.
  21. ND is ranked pretty high with having an inexperienced QB. Starting the season at Miami will be an tough opener even if they had an experienced QB, so I don’t see this as being an easy season.
  22. I agree. I started out with Curt Gowdy, Ned Martin, and Ken Coleman watching the Red Sox so everyone since has below their standards to me. Hawk Harrelson didn’t have a great voice either.
