  1. I can’t see Story going to 3B. 2B definitely if Cora will make the move.
  2. How could I forget about Kike at SS? Story, and Casas missed so much times the past few years, and that’s why the Red Sox went through so many different players at those positions, and not, because Cora likes to platoon. 2B is a different kind of situation where no one has been able to play halfway decent to stay there, and not, because Cora likes to platoon. That’s my point.
  3. Did he love Franchy at 1B, or Arroyo in RF in Fenway, or did he just not have any other option? Casas at 1B, or a Toro/Romy combo. Injuries, or not another option? Having 11 different 2B in 2024 was quite a platoon. How’d that work out?
  4. Ending the season not being able to pitch in the postseason made this an easy decision to me, and a right decision IMO.
  5. The umps are screwing Casas over on balls, and strikes?. Swing the dang bat, and just not an imaginary swing.🙈
  6. And like I said in the previous post before this one, and because the Red Sox haven’t been able to come up with a somewhat FT player at 2B, which is why they used 11 different 2B in 2024, which he was one of them. I’m not downplaying his contribution, but why it got there in the first place, and why it still gets more playtime.
  7. I know all about his numbers, but he hasn’t played as much as he has is, because of those numbers, but because of injuries.
  8. The DHam’s, and Romy’s to some are like folk hero’s on here. I’ve stated more than once on here that I don’t like platoons at all. The biggest reason the Red Sox have had so many platoons especially in the IF the past few years is, because of injuries at SS, and 1B, and the Red Sox haven’t been able to find a FT 2B. I would stick Mayer at SS, and let him play every day, and let’s see if he’s as good as some have been raving about since he was drafted, and see if he’s a real prospect, or more like a suspect. Of course he’s got to stay healthy too.
  9. I agree 100% with all of this. I know Mayer has lost a lot of developmental time due to injuries the past few years, but he’s been one of the chosen ones since he was drafted, and if all he is going to be is a platoon player than he shouldn’t have been one of the chosen ones in the first place. I would stick him at SS full time, and move Story to 2B, and fill the other IF spots from there.
  10. I think you’re worrying to much about the offense. The Red Sox got to where they were last year, because of improved pitching especially in the starting rotation. That’s the area you have to keep improving, and not take any step back IMO.
  11. No matter who you sign, or trade for you are always praying for health. There has been a lot of bad injury Ju Ju the past few years in Boston.
  12. The Red Sox had a lot better chance to sign Flintstone once, and now he’d be to expensive for the Red Sox taste. If Alonso is in demand I can’t see the Red Sox outbidding anyone either. If it’s not for Bregman I just don’t see the Red Sox signing any large, and long contracts.
  13. The Red Sox like to window shop, but paying the price of admission that the big spenders are paying just isn’t going to happen.
  14. I’d be shocked if JH will either. Especially at the numbers being mentioned here, and other places.
  15. Agree on Bichette, but I don’t think the Red Sox want to go that long on a contract.
  16. I agree. The bottom feeders who won’t spend are a bigger problem to me.
  17. Anthony being out definitely hurt the offense.Bregman just ended up back down to where his BA should have been, and he actually finished a little higher than he had in a few years. Bregman got off to a hot start this past year, and the year before he got off to a terrible start. He’s not a 300+ hitter.
  18. Hopefully Skubal resigns with Detroit, which I doubt he would do without testing the FA market first. If that happens, and the Big spenders get involved the Red Sox don’t have a chance. If you want the Red Sox to do a dog, and pony show to say they tried then fine, but it would be a waste of time to both the Red. Sox, and Skubal.
  19. Bregman signed a more than generous contract by the Red Sox for the right amount of years IMO. Any more than a year added would not be a good idea IMO.
  20. I didn’t realize McMahon was under contract for 2 more years for that money.
  21. I get the team control, but the amount it would take to resign him would be way over what the Red Sox, or JH would want to spend.
  22. I don’t see Masa getting released, and he definitely is NO 1B candidate.
  23. Skubal is a lot more established than Crochet was. Throw in Anthony, and then get a new Red Sox owner to pay for Skubal, because JH wouldn’t even think about.
