  1. Whitlock had an easy 4 innings today against a weak hitting club, and gave up a game tying homer into his 3rd inning against the Yankees, so let’s see how he does his next 4-5 outings going 4-5 innings, before he gets anointed the next big starter. In a couple of weeks the Red Sox will have to get down to 13 pitchers, so some decisions will have to be made then.
  2. Cora said after the game that Whitlock was not coming into the game if still down 3-0.
  3. Arroyo in RF in Fenway will be more of a challenge. If JBJ continues not to hit he may see less playing time even against righties.
  4. 39 pitches in 4 innings, so pretty easy Peasy.
  5. What’s Bloom waiting for. It should have been done after he made the JBJ trade.
  6. He hasn’t thrown many pitches.
  7. They took him out the other day when he gave up the lead when the plan was for him to go 4.
  8. I don’t believe Whitlock would be in the game now if it was still 3-0.
  9. Then why did the Sour Man come in?
  10. The schedule is only as good as the situation at the time. Down 3-0 is not the time, but 3-3 is.
  11. Dugy slow going after the ball. Lifeless is right.
  12. The JBJ trade looks worse everyday. He has to platoon, and there is no regular OF to takes his place. This is all on Bloom.
  13. Is that McClain, and Lolich out there for Detroit the last two games?
  14. Yes to the ist question, and depends on the hitter like JBJ for the 2nd.
  15. If you look back to last year the difference between the Sox making the postseason, or not was one game. I’m not freaking out, but they all count.
  16. I don’t think Story is much help at this point. He does need to get some AB, but he only had 6 AB in ST, so I don’t see the Sox getting any output from him for sometime.
  17. Let’s not leave out my favorite Flintstone Schwarber 2 for 14, 1 HR
  18. If you keeping throwing things against the wall sooner, or later something will stick. The pile on the floor keeps getting bigger though.
  19. Fact, or fiction?
  20. Who knows what the staff, or the team for that matter will look like next year. Could be lots of comings, and goings.
  21. I get your point, but if they see him as a starter then why isn’t he starting? Being in a piggy back role to me is just a waste of only pitching 1-2 days a week compared to 3-4 days a week as a closer. The Red Sox May view him as a starter in the future, but I just don’t think right now. I’m not saying I’m right, but just my thought.
  22. I just don’t think at this point that there is serious thought of making Houck a closer, and will get every chance with Frail out to be a part of the rotation, which lots have been clamoring for on here. On the other hand I don’t think there is serious thought right now of putting Whitlock into the rotation, but that could all change with Houck, Hill, or Whacka imploding.
