  1. I think his crazy days are gone for the Red Sox. He’s got to many other adventures going out there. I said at the time of the Story signing that he will make the team better this year, but if he was signed at the expense of Bogey, and Raffy resigning then I don’t like it at all.
  2. If the offer to Bogey was not true then the Red Sox better come out, and refute it now, because it makes the Red Sox look small, and cheap, and the talk will not go away, and be out there all year. Good strategy to put the news, or rumor out there just before the home opener by the Bogey camp. Bogey should get quite an ovation today when introduced.
  3. I’ll agree with that.
  4. If the Bogey offer is true they didn’t offer him a new contract, but only added 1 more year to it at $30M to bring the last 4 years of his contract to $90M. That is more than blatantly disrespectful with all Bogey has done for the Red Sox.
  5. Just because some owner is crazy enough to pay a crazy price for someone doesn’t mean that another owner should pay even more if someone is better, or not.
  6. At this point I don’t know what the Red Sox are willing to do. The Sox May do the $220/8, but I think it is way below what Raffy would take. I would like to see both Bogey, and Raffy stay, but I’m not paying Bogey $200M, and I’m not paying Raffy $300M. On the other hand if the Bogey contract offer rumor is anything close to being true that is not a slap in the face, but a total body blow.
  7. To me it’s just greedy, but the bad thing is someone will be stupid enough to pay more. How many $300M+ contracts have won any championships?
  8. When ANYONE turns down $300M+ to me is just a bad look no matter how much per yr it is.
  9. The only question that counts is what is the Red Sox willing to pay, and I don’t see anyone of these.
  10. I get what you are saying, but I personally think the fans have a right to know what’s going on. It came out that Soto turned down a 13 yr 300M+ contract.
  11. I don’t see Bloom any time soon pulling a Cashman, and saying what the offer was, but I agree.
  12. You’re right about Lester, and I hope you’re right about the offer to Bogey. I would hate to think that the Red Sox were that low to just offer Bogey to extend his present contract by 1 year, and just add $30M to it. Now if they wanted to add 3 more years at $30M I think that would be a reasonable offer. Probably wouldn’t be good enough, but at least to me would be a somewhat reasonable offer. As much as I would like to see Bogey stay I would not pay him for 8 yrs at $30M per.
  13. With the Sox past history with Lester, and the way Bogey reacted when asked about his contract, I’ll go with the Bogey camp for the moment.
  14. It was lower than lowballing. Like I read in a report that the hand writing isn’t on the wall, but is spray painted in fluorescent colors for Bogey.
  15. The last report I heard was that all the Red Sox were offering was an extra year on his existing contract of $30M to bring the total up to $90M. Who knows if the report is accurate, or not. That’s why it was good when Cashman came out, and said what the Yankees offered Judge.
  16. You may have no problem with the Sox offering Bogey 4 years $90M, but I’m sure Bogey did. You could tell in his interview that he sounded down, and dejected.
  17. I don’t think it means that at all. If the report was true about the $90M/4 then why bother with making the offer at all? That was worse than what they offered Lester. If Bogey would take 140/6 then I don’t think Story would have even been thought of by the Sox.
  18. Story should be down at the bottom of the order until he does get his timing, and certainly shouldn’t be hitting 3rd.
  19. If that’s the reason then he never should have traded for JBJ in the first, and got someone who could play everyday.
  20. Why is Bloom making getting an actual backup RF so much harder than it needs to be? Of course it wouldn’t be so much of a problem if the Red Sox had a RF that didn’t need to be platooned.
  21. How much more do you want to see? Bloom was in Detroit yesterday, and saw the mess he has created in RF, so let’s see if he finally does something about it. RF in Fenway will even be more of a problem for Arroyo.
  22. Bloom was in Detroit yesterday, so do you think he noticed how Arroyo chased those two balls down in RF?
