  1. True said, and Casas is in the big spotlight right now. I don’t know if he has lots of weight on his shoulders, but he certainly has had lots of hype.
  2. Finally a win for ND! I don’t know how many more they will get though.
  3. 5-6-11 Still 5 games from that elusive 500 mark, which is going, going, gone pretty much with 17 games to play. Good thing KC is not in their Div, because they can’t beat them either.
  4. I thought JD would still be good for 20 HR, and 80-90 RBI, but his power was gone all year, and his Ave too after a pretty good start.
  5. Injuries played a part, but sub par performances from their better players played a big part too.
  6. Right now of who’s on the staff who can you really count on next year, and in what role?
  7. Either way not much of anything worked out.
  8. Why was there no plan to add an experienced closer in the off season? Sale getting hurt had nothing to do with that not happening. and to me that should have been done anyways. I only said Whitlock should have been the closer, which he wasn’t on opening day, because he was the best option at the time, and based off last year’s effectiveness.
  9. Chang at SS today. Can’t wait to see this suspect.
  10. I was only talking about the BP when I said there was no plan. To start the season there was no established closer, or setup man. Sale went down before spring training even started, and neither Houck, or Whitlock were even considered for closer, or setup at that time, so like I said No established closer was there to start the season. That does not sound like much of a plan to me.
  11. I’m saying he never should have been counted on to be the closer to start the year.
  12. And he picked right up where he left off last year this year. Come on man!
  13. Barnes was so good he was left off the postseason roster, and you were counting on him? Come on man!
  14. JBJ can’t hit, because he can’t hit, and a new team, and a new league had nothing to do with it. Duran plain, and simple sucks as an outfielder, and that about as bad of an example that anyone could use. JBJ improved the D in RF, but hurt the overall team in the process, so big deal. You were one of the few who liked the JBJ trade, and good for you, but to most it was more than a head scratcher.
  15. Plawecki DFA.
  16. They already knew that JBJ couldn’t hit, and you made excuses that he was on a new team facing new pitchers the year before. Don’t use Duran as an example that OF D is not a given. He’s pretty much the worst of the worst, and most ML OF can track, and catch a flyball.JBJ improved the D, but did that improve the team when you took away a 30+ HR, and 90+ RBI man? The whole OF got off to a real bad start with the bat, and so did the team, and Kike has sucked all year when he has played with the bat.
  17. This we agree on.
  18. Good pen on paper to start the season? Outside of Whitlock going in who was their closer, and setup man. Barnes, and Robles?
  19. The Globe says there is an open audition going on in the pen for next year, but to me what’s happens now does not guarantee anything for next year. Can you count on Schreiber to be as good next year? I don’t think so, and what about Whitlock next year?
  20. Outside of the trade for JBJ the biggest problem to me going into the season was not having a plan , and , or a closer to start the season, and still don’t for that matter. Looks right right now Whitlock is the 8th inning guy, and that’s fine, but I still say a closer is need not named Houck.
  21. 4-6-10 Big win last night, and big rally in the 8th with the 4 walks, but a wins a win . Still 4 games out from 500, but with hitting like last night I don’t think this juggernaut will be stopped from getting to that all impressive 500 mark.
  22. They used to say Homer Jones the old WR of the New York Giants was like a guy on a motorcycle with a butterfly net catching footballs. Duran playing the OF is like he trying to catch butterflies without a net. Duran Duran the butterfly man.
  23. Not just injuries, but injuries that all seem to take much longer than first thought. Anybody seen Hosmer lately?
  24. No change in the standings, and with only 19 games to go I think the only question left is if the Red Sox can get to what seems to be that elusive 500 mark. With being 5 games away I’m saying no.
  25. Playoffs? Did someone say playoffs? The Portland Sea Dogs are in for the first time since 2014.
