Really that’s where you want to go. Comparing the 2019 team with the 2022 team. If the 2019 team played the same teams with the same talent as the 2022 team I’m pretty sure they would have finished with a lot better record, and wouldn’t have been a losing team with a lost place in the Div finish. Not even close to a good comparison.

It is true that DD, and Bloom do things a different way, and it is also true that DD has gotten better results.

That’s a way to look at it, but to me WL record is the most important, and that’s how I choose to look at it. I get it that you are part of the Bloom cheering squad with the old Bloom, Bloom he’s our man, and if he can’t do it no one can, but as Lee Corso would say Not So Fast! Poor poor Bloom to be under what you call circumstances that he is under. It sounds like to me he’s not up to the job.

Pure speculation on your part, but what isn’t speculation is that Bloom has not brought the Red Sox to the WS.

WL record is a narrow view? Wow! WL record is what gets you to where you want to go, which is making it into the postseason unlike this year that it got you into the basement of the Div. WL record in the now to me is most important. Not what may happen two years from now. I think we’ve been down this road many times before, and I don’t believe anyone has changed their mine yet, or WL.

It would be a much smaller number to say who wasn’t injured, or who actually produced this year would it not? That was a big big factor this year for the lack of success.

I do agree mostly, but if none the prospects you mentioned hadn’t gotten traded how many do you think would have made it with the Red Sox, and still been here? Speaking of prospects how did the Red Sox let Houston’s starting SS get out of their backyard from the U OF Maine?

They have survived quite well, but I don’t believe the Red Sox could do the same if Betts, Bogey, and Raffy are let go.

DD did make some blunders himself, but I agree, and Henry compounded things by hiring Bloom.

That may be true, but Margot probably would not have gotten all the chances to play that he got in San Diego at least for a few years anyway.

Both would help, but neither are any kind of difference maker.

Resigning Sale with a year to go on his contract with a bum left wing was a blunder many times over. I didn’t like the Evol signing at the time, but at least they got some production out of him. Even if the money had been equal I’m not so sure Betts would have stayed anyway.

I got the point, but I just don’t agree to the degree that you do. I don’t agree to the degree that you do that the Sox are like they are today, or have been after the 2018 season like you do, because of DD. To me this past season had more to do with injuries, and lack of production from certain players than how DD left the team. I do agree that the farm has not been that productive, but just not as a main reason for the lack of success.

What prospect did DD trade away that would have made a bigger difference today than who he was traded for at the time?

Correa’s contract would be bigger, and longer then I think the Red Sox would want to go, and I think that goes for Raffy too.

They were a losing team that got much better as the season went on, so call it what you want, but I doubt the Sox would have had the same success against them if they had played in Aug- Sept.

Right Correa will be more expensive than Bogey, so the Sox will land him instead, and then lock up Raffy at even more money.Wishful thinking, but not much of a reality.

The Mariners were a losing team 6-8 games under 500 when the Red Sox played them, and they got better later on in the season, where the Sox went the other way, so doesn’t show much more than that.

The point is not if I can grasp your point, but if I want to, and at any rate you are on the losing side when it comes to the shift, which I believe will be better for baseball. Can you taste it? Can you feel it? Can you touch it? No? Now you can see it when you watch it. Enjoy!

Baseball the way it should be. A little bit of small ball, a couple of big boppers, starting pitchers going through the order 3, or 4 times, and games being played a little on either side of 2 hours, and NO Shifts on pretty much every batter, which was analytics driven all sounds good to me. Not tinkering to me just back to the way it should be. To me analytics has been the tinkering.
