  1. As it ended up he would have even been an improvement at 1B over Franchy Strangeglove.
  2. All that matters at the moment is Philly is going to the WS, and the Red Sox are sitting home at the kiddie table for being in last place watching.
  3. Sox could have had Peña from the 2018 draft, but DD passed on him. I guess Orono Maine was to far to travel to scout.
  4. You believe what you want to believe, and I’ll believe what I want to believe, which is I only believe a signature on a dotted line.
  5. I never did care on long it takes to build up the farm. That’s your gig. I didn’t say it wasn’t important, but that’s as far as I go.
  6. But he didn’t say Bloom was the GM in 2019, so I don’t know why you commented on that.
  7. You are mistaking understanding with caring.
  8. I didn’t see anyone say Bloom was the HOBO in 2019. I think you missed the point.
  9. Ended up being both.
  10. Theo went to Thanksgiving with Schilling. Probably had pie then.
  11. I’ll go with the cake. Amazing if the reports are from people not liked like Shaugnessy, or Speier in this case they must be wrong. Like I said earlier I’ll believe when I see a signature on a dotted line.
  12. There wasn’t conflicting reports on the lowball offer like there is now.
  13. And you didn’t?
  14. Win in 4-7 years? That may work in a place like Pittsburg, but no way would it work in Boston, nor should it. Nobody has said it’s not Bloom’s idea not to spend big either. It doesn’t matter what kind of restrictions he’s under. Either he’s up for the job, or not. I don’t think JH promised him an open checkbook when he took the job.
  15. For starters even though Casas, and Bello shows lots of promises neither one has established anything yet. Now if you are talking about trading them this past year to get into the postseason it would have to be for at least two pretty good players that would be for more than a 1 yr rental. The future is now is the main thing, but then you have to do a little bit deeper dig . Just like I talk about BA which I look at first, but then go into it deeper from there, so I’m not as bad as you think.
  16. Traded for who? Aren’t those two DD guys?
  17. I knew what you meant.
  18. Be in the WAS? I have no idea if we would be in a WAS right now, but I would venture to say we wouldn’t have been a losing last place team last year. Bloom is a failure, and I hope his time is running out to prove otherwise. BTW I hope he does prove otherwise, but I don’t think it is going to happen.
  19. There is conflicting reports out there, so I’m not encouraged at all until I see a signature on the dotted line.
  20. Like Kennedy said at the year end press conference we all failed this year meaning himself, Cora, and Bloom. We’ve been over this hundreds of times already that to some fans they only care what’s happening here, and now, and that here, and now is a losing team with a last place in the Div finish. That’s a failure, and Bloom is a failure, and all the excuse making, and Pom Pom waving is not going to change that. DD was fired 10 months after winning a WS, so by that criteria Bloom who hasn’t won a thing, and has 2 last place finishes to his resume should be out the door. To me this was a bad hire by JH if he wants to having a winning big league ball club. Building up the farm I agree with, but is not the most important thing.
  21. No! The future is NOW.
  22. Not paying Bradley $12M in the first place like Milwaukee did was the smart move. Trading for Bradley after was the not so smart move. Must have been that 160 BA that caught Bloom’s eye.
  23. The biggest disparity between DD, and Bloom is that DD has a long resume of building winning baseball teams, and Bloom does not.
  24. Bloom’s competence, or not.
  25. Are you comparing Pittsburg, and the Pirates to Red Sox Nation, and the Red Sox?
