  1. I’m all for getting on Bogey when it is needed, and his offensive output has been lacking. Even though he been hitting above 300 this year it really doesn’t feel like it. Bolting the clubhouse, and not talking to the media after the game, and his base running blunder Sat night was not a good look.
  2. We’ll have to disagree that the 10-19 start had nothing to do with Bloom, because the lack of a closer played a part in that bad start. Yes the season has ebbs, and flows that can get compounded by a rash of injuries, but also having the right personnel on the roster plays a big part.
  3. Whitlock hasn’t proven he’s better than all those guys as a starting pitcher. I’ll go with Eck’s opinion. He knows more than we do, and without a reliable closer as this team found out to start the season this team won’t go anywhere.
  4. I’m not saying Pham is who we should have started the year with, but could have started the year with, and as it turned out better than Kike, or JBJ. There were better than Pham out there. It sounds like to me that if they were negotiating with Pham Bloom knew there was a need for another OF, but didn’t pull the trigger, and went with Arroyo instead.
  5. Could JH surprise us?
  6. 2023 is fine, but only to me is if the Red Sox get an actual reliable closer.
  7. According to Buster Olney the Red Sox are preparing to offer Raffy a contract he can’t refuse. Of course what the Red Sox think is to good to refuse Raffy may think different. Can’t wait to see what happens.
  8. The Ref Man was a good pickup, but should have been called up sooner.
  9. Ok we disagree, but those Pham’s stats were better than Kike, JBJ, or Duran, and I would have taken it.
  10. RH outfielder was overblown? The whole OF pretty much sucked offensively early in the season when they started 10-19, and only Dugy out of the three got his average much above 200, so I don’t know how needing another OF was overblown. Ref only came up after the injuries, and Arroyo never was an OF, so yes now we have Pham, but could have started the season in Boston. Just a thought.
  11. According to Pham he wanted to come to Boston before the season started, but a deal couldn’t be worked out. The Red Sox didn’t need a RHH OF did they? Way to go Bloom.
  12. 3 good for the most part well played games against the Yankees, and not 4-5 hrs either. Well pitched, but now the offense has to pick it up.
  13. A nice save by Whitlock last, which to me is the way it should have been all year. I said it before the season, and I’ll say it to the end of the season that if Whitlock would have been the closer the Red Sox would have a better record right now. Yes I know there has been a lot of pushback about that, but that’s my opinion. Eck has said all year that’s where Whitlock should be, and recently has said 1 inning save opportunities is better than trying to get a two inning save. Pitching 3-4 times a week is better than pitching 2 innings, and then having to wait 2-3 days to pitch again. With Houck out this is a good time to try it.Same with Schreiber 1 inning at a time if possible. It would be great also if Barnes could pitch somewhat decent the rest out the year. I hope Bloom has seen what the importance of having a good closer makes. I know the Braves think the $16M spent on Jansen was well worth it.
  14. Last place in the Div, and last wild card spot standing update. 4 games back in the L column for last place, and 5 games back in the L colum for the last wild card spot. Got some momentum going, so 1 game at a time, and let’s GO SOX!
  15. WOW! I can’t believe it, but on game 116 Cora actually brought in Whitlock in the 9th for a three out save. Way to go Alex.
  16. Two entirely different views, which lead to different opinions. To one poster on here the clubhouse leaders mainl Bogey, and JD were pouting, and crying, and to me they were pissed off. To one poster Vaz wasn’t good enough to be the Red Sox C, and Bogey isn’t good enough to be the Red Sox SS, and add to that wanted them sold off in a fire sale. To me Vaz was good enough to be the Red Sox C, and Bogey is good enough to be the Red Sox SS, and didn’t want a fire sale. Two different views of things, which led to different opinions.
  17. I think there was more to the just losing their buddy Vaz then why the team was pissed. Difference between being pissed, and pouting, and crying. I think the feeling in the clubhouse was that losing Vaz made the team worse off at the present time. Vaz had been through the battles with the team, and came up with some big clutch hits along the way like last postseason run. Just a thought.
  18. There was plenty of blame to go around, and not making the playoffs was the result, and then the Bobby V Clown Show, which topped everything off.
  19. Well written, but there wouldn’t be any pissing contest if people could just do a simple thing agree to disagree that I have tried several times, but seems to be a big problem that everyone has to get the last word in.Facts are facts, and opinions are opinions, and nothing more than that, and most times both sides can be right at the same time, but don’t want to hear the other side.
  20. And you are saying that for both sides of course. I asked before if anyone had put him on ignore like MVP, and no one answered. I have also seen more than one pissing match with him, and someone else, and just stood by, and watched,so it’s not just me. I know you like to put all the blame on me, and I’m only here for pissing contest, so so be it.
  21. Wasn’t they like 7-20 that last month, and had been a good team up until that point? That’s why it turned out to be the deal it was, and compounded by not making the playoffs on the last day of the season.
  22. You have your opinion, and I have mine. I have no disdain against anyone.
  23. But how many teams fell apart like the Sox did?
  24. Was Pedroia there for the chicken, and beer fest?
  25. And I don’t see Bloom as being good, or lucky, so I think the Sox are screwed until Henry smartens up, and gets rid of him.
