That’s a strong possibility. I think he will be good, but not quite as dominant as last year when he was used mostly 2-3 days between appearances, and only 73 innings.
But you have to have some kind of a plan to begin with. 2018 ended up bad, but there was a plan to start the season. 2021 there was a plan to start with, but Barnes s*** the bed. This year Bloom had no plan.
If it’s the grumpy guys who call in to open mouth shows, what are the grumpy guys who reside on here? Do you think what is said on here is a good representation of Red Sox Nation?
Everyone one used to go more innings. Starters used to pitch every 4th day, and there were no worries about pitch counts, innings pitched, and certainly no 3 times through the order stuff. Seems there were less arm troubles too.
Why would I goggle it? In my 60+ years of watching MLB I have NEVER heard the term used, or read it anywhere either in many of the sports publications I’ve read. Use all you want no problem, but I’ll stick to other terms.
Injuries played a part, but there was no plan for the backend of the BP to start the season. Whitlock tried to get a 4 inning save on opening day. Was Barnes, and Robles the plan to close?
I still have not heard Relief Ace used anywhere else, but here, but if I do I’ll say I heard it here first, but until then that’s all I’ve heard of it is here. I prefer the Monsta reliever named after Radtz.
Maybe the disgruntled fans, which there are millions, and millions like the Rock’s fans are the ones that are realistic. Like I said we’ve gone over this 10,000 times, and I don’t think anyone has changed their mind.
It’s kind of a standard thing going into a season to have a reliable closer, and some good SETUP men if you are going to be a good team. Counting on Houck, Whitlock, and Schreiber in that role going into next year to me is a very risky thing to do. I’m not sold on any to be a closer, or in a SETUP role either.
Whether you like it, or not lots of RedSox Nation does not like Bloom’s way of doing things, and think he is in way over his head in Boston, so it’s more him, and not the 3 years. We’ve gone over this 10,000 times already.
I’m just giving my opinion just like everyone else whether I answered it to your satisfaction, or not. I’m not for taking the easy way out like you evidently are.
Why would playing less games against the AL East be a good thing? Because it’s easier? I like playing the Yankees 19 times along with the rest of the Div, and now Baltimore has improved, so to me makes things more interesting. I’m not looking to make things easier. I don’t care where the Red Sox would be in another div. If you can’t beat the good teams you aren’t a good team yourself like this year.
