  1. Suzuki wasn’t worth the hype, or the money this past year, which is a better more recent example.
  2. If Kike plays like 2021 it’s a steal, but on the other hand if Kike plays like 2022 it’s Kike doing the stealing. Time will tell who does the stealing.
  3. Did they pay any of those $100M+ to start with? They didn’t even offer Bogey $100M last offseason.
  4. You still haven’t figured it out that I only rag on Kike, because he his your boy toy, and I just don’t value him nowhere’s near as high as you do. .
  5. My clear, and obvious point in the first place was Yoshida has done nothing in MLBaseball, and Rusney was just another example of the same who turned out to be a bust, and Beni who has done plenty in MLBaseball most likely will continue to do so. Might not be to his standard in his earlier days with Boston, but we shall see. Like I say repeatedly it’s always someone else missing the point with you, and never you missing the point, or as you try to say. Wash, rinse, repeat.
  6. I never said it counted the same for everyone, and I didn’t say it’s the only thing that counts, but that’s how I look at it, and that bothers some. I think they overpaid, and that bothers some too. That’s my opinion, and I’m sticking to it.
  7. That we agree on, and to get more spending money this year JH upped ticket prices.
  8. Yes that is, but you left out the one I mentioned last, which was good old Rusney, and that’s also a fact, and Rusney didn’t meet you narrative, so until Yoshida proves his worth to me he’s not much better than RUSNEY you know the one you conveniently left out.
  9. I already knew all of that, but because Henry didn’t do any of that doesn’t mean he couldn’t if he wanted to.
  10. That’s what DD did with Sale, and Someone did with the Panda, and someone did with CC, so I guess you are right, and let’s no forget Rusney.
  11. It still comes down to Yoshida has done nothing, or proven anything in the Major Leagues, and that’s a fact. Now if, and when he does something that will change, and we’ll be see if that $100M+ was money well spent. I’m hoping it does for the Red Sox sake, but you on the other hand are hoping it does for the Red Sox sake, and for Bloom’s sake.
  12. Once again a wrong conclusion that pointing something out is not complaining. How do you know Henry is not a bottomless pit?
  13. Bogey was a different breed compared to Lester, Raffy, and Mookie, so I wouldn’t look to much into him wanting to stay here, and comparing him to the other 3. Raffy has seen the spending sprees go wild this year, and I think he wants in on the action then he will most likely get more somewhere else.
  14. We do agree on the LF/DH should have been down on the importance list, and a RF with a power bat should have been a much greater need, and of course the always needed pitching, pitching, and more pitching.
  15. Beni is still doing it. That’s not conjecture. This signing of Yoshida could be the fatal blow to Bloom if things don’t work out, and the Red Sox stay in the toilet this year, and yes that’s a jab at Bloom.
  16. I think he willing to take that risk. The Red Sox had their chance, and I don’t think that chance is there any longer. He’s watched how they treated Bogey, and how he’s been treated himself since last offseason, and I think that matters.
  17. The big difference on the conjecture with Beni is he’s proven it in the Major Leagues, and Yoshida hasn’t proven a thing yet, and that’s a fact. Now if you want to say it’s conjecture on Yoshida, and nothing else then I’ll agree. ,
  18. I keep hearing how much money the Red Sox have to spend on here, but I haven’t heard one word from the Red Sox on what they expect the payroll to be next year. They might not spend what the expectations are on here
  19. I still don’t see why Raffy would want to resign in Boston. He’s going to get his money no matter where he goes now. Bogey is gone, and it doesn’t look like the Red Sox are trying to get much better at least in the short term no matter what story Bloom told to Kike. I’m sure there will be better teams than Boston who will want his services., and will pay more than Boston too.
  20. First of all I don’t believe the Red Sox won the Beni trade for Franchy Strangeglove, and Stinkin Winkin. Yoshida hasn’t done anything, or proven anything in the Majors yet, and the next 5 years will show who’s better now. To say the Red Sox made the right choice is based on what?
  21. I’m all for any kind of help when it comes to pitching, and if it takes a trade that’s fine too.
  22. I don’t believe it is ever foolish to go for pitching. You never have to much, and most times don’t have enough.Yoshida would have filled a bigger need if he was a RF with some power. I think Story is the SS, and then it becomes a question if you want to go with Kike, or Arroyo at 2B. Even then more parts are needed.
  23. Wouldn’t you try to fill the hole first? Both contracts you are taking a chance on. If the Red Sox had signed Senga I would have said the same thing, but the Mets signed him, and money is no object to them. With the Red Sox it’s a different story is it not?
  24. Well I guess we agree on this, because I would have rather the Red Sox went after Senga first.
  25. That would be a waste to some of Raffy’s prime years.
