    I was worried about Buchner before the season even started. Looks like anything, but the TE is a worry on offense.

    Painful to watching meaning I know he’s a lot better hitter then what he looks like right now, and you can tell he’s been frustrated for some time now.

    Paying customer at Fenway? We just have different philosophies. To me a team like the Red Sox with a $200M payroll should not have to take any years off to rebuild, or anything else you want to call it to possibly get better 2, or 3 years from now. They don’t have to be a champion, but at least be competitive every year, and if you have people in charge who know what they are doing you shouldn’t have to go though a season like this, or other last place finishes that have gone along with championships. Taking a year off does not guarantee nothing.

    How many straws are you going to grasp at to say it’s the same as the shift, which is going, going GONE next year.

    Seattle was not playing well when the Sox played them, and the Angels were going through their long losing streak unlike how they are playing now.

    I did not say Raffy sucks right now, but he does, and he should get just as much flak as JD, and Bogey has gotten. I’m not going to gripe about it, but the bad comes with the good. I just said it was painful to watch him swing a bat right now when I know he is a lot better than that. Bello is enjoying to watch, and just needs more consistency with that wild stretch.

    They made it back to a winning record by playing the bad, bad, bad West that you bought into. What happened when they got back to playing the Div teams again? Reality set back in, and here we are today with a losing record, and LAST PLACE in the Div.

    No! The 50,000 shift increase in a 10 year period, which I believe is at a all time pace this year also.

    Once again are you saying paying customers, which you are not should be watching so called bubble players when they go to Fenway? Like I said earlier people at the games in person only care about that moment in time, and not if Ort will make the team next year. Now that is not Rocket science.

    No I’m saying that Ort to me was not the best option. That would have been a situation for a good long man, or setup man.

    All analytics driven, which I don’t see as bringing any improvement to the game.

    Who’s talking about banning bringing the IF in? It wasn’t even mentioned by me. Seeing things that aren’t even there again, because you are so hung up on guarding the 3B, and 1B lines as like a shift.

    I get the point you are trying to make, but that point just doesn’t matter to some as it does you. This year with this record is what matters to many.

    I never saw Yaz with one of those, but probably the Nerds, and Clones hand them out before each game.

    In the words of 700 he’s a ham, and egger. Look if you think bringing in Ort in that situation was the right move last night then we just disagree.

    There should be nothing to be found out about Ort that isn’t known already. If there is then Houston we have a bigger problem evaluating talent then we thought.

    The shift is over. Like it, or in your case not. Stop grasping at straws like guarding the foul lines, or if the outfielders are playing shallow, or deep, or shading one way, or the other in the OF, which none of it has anything to do with an IF shift.

    You are not a paying customer, so I would go by what they say, and think over those who aren’t. Watching prospects are what the minor leagues are for. I don’t think it’s been that pleasant an experience watching tryouts at the ML level this year for the most part.

    If you can’t find better players than Duran, or Franchy then maybe the Sox better find someone who can. Yes it’s well documented many times on here about declining veterans, and injuries, but still doesn’t take away from what Bloom did, and didn’t do such as JBJ for Renfroe, and no plan at all for the backend of the BP to start the season. Also the 1B fiasco that became apparent, and Bloom did nothing until the trade deadline when Hosmer was given to him. You don’t wait to see what was offered you go out, and offer yourself. As it looks now it might not have made a difference, but you didn’t know that at the time. Once again declines, and injuries do not change the ineptness of Bloom this season.
