  1. You have asked that same question 868 times if DD could have done better than Bloom, and some have answered the same way 868 times that you disagreed with, and the answer is yes. Didn’t you hear the fans shouting to Bloom they wanted DD back when he was trying to explain the Mookie bet. Priceless!
  2. The Red Sox have 9-11 starters with REAL promise? Stinkin Winkin is just that, and Walter, and Murphy are just suspects at this point. You were high on Seabold a year ago. The schedule change doesn’t mean 4 more wins either. The Red Sox won’t have to play as many games inside the Div, but they will be playing more teams with better records that they wouldn’t normally be playing. Finally I’m not counting on being better at D at SS either, so we’ll have to wait, and see on that one.
  3. I’ll second the motion!
  4. Agree, and a good blacksmith may come in handy.
  5. Yes you are wrong again. You look at it as being pessimistic, but I look at it as not going overboard, and being as optimistic as you are. Rankings, and ratings are all over the place depending who you listen to, so I definitely wouldn’t judge anything on just one ranking from Law, or anyone else. Law was just one ranking that was brought up, and that’s why I commented on it.
  6. Spot on. The WL record of the Red Sox is what matters most, and that is the here, and now.
  7. I said they were good to talk about, but i wouldn’t call that any kind of value. Look if it makes people feel better, and it does for some to see a higher ranking, but it doesn’t matter to me one way, or the other. I go watch the SD in Portland, because I like baseball, but I go watch the local colleges too.
  8. That’s what I said they are useful in two ways. 1. Producing in a Red Sox uniform 2. Traded for someone who does.
  9. Fine looks better than 3,4,5… years ago, but does that translate to a better big league club is what’s most important to some.
  10. I still go buy the adage no matter of any rankings that prospects/suspects are useless until they are producing in a Red Sox uniform, or traded for someone who does. They are good to talk about, and dream about, and hope about , and wish about in the meantime though.
  11. Oh the 5 yr lull that we’ve heard about for the 999th time now. We get it. I was against the Sale extension when it happened, because Sale was a TJ waiting to happen at anytime, and I’ve Bashed DD for it ever since. If DD would have landed Betts, and extended Bogey to a contact that stuck I believe the Red Sox would be better off today. Then you would have more to build around more than you have now, and if some of the Bello, Casas, and Mayer types work out then you have something unlike now.
  12. Only time, and production in a big league uniform will tell that, and not some kind of rankng.
  13. DD squandered the farm? Getting Kimbrel, and Sale was nowhere near a squander, and saying most felt is was squandered is an over exaggeration. Even Moncada has not lived up to the hype.
  14. Thornburg was decent at the time, but sucked for the Sox.
  15. When was the farm drained for nonsense? Sale? Kimbrel?
  16. My position is that Bloom is not as good as you make him out to be, and the most important aspect the WL record of the ML club has suffered, because of it, and, because of Bloom, and you can’t stand that I have that opinion. Botching, looking for that 3rd option in the fork in the road are just two of his standard operating procedures, and that try, and try again you can not overcome no matter how many columns you write that repeats itself over, and over again.
  17. A Bloom Bust it is.
  18. Not as full of suspects as it used to be. The not so great Jeter Downs is gone.
  19. Wanted to no, because I don’t like those long 10 yr $300M+ contracts, but having to yes if you want to keep a superstar talent bad enough. Best answer for what it is would be all I got.
  20. Last year was weird. It can’t be worse than last year can it? Story being injured was not a good sign of things to come though.
  21. Once again we’ve heard this same speech 978 times, and once again I’ll give a rebuttal that Mookie should still be in a Red Sox uniform, and at the very least the Red Sox should have been building around Mookie, and Raffy, and not just Raffy. None of the suspects in the farm system most likely won’t turn out to be anywhere near a talent as Mookie.
  22. Stating a most likely scenario that not all minor league players are prospects let alone ending up in the ML as a productive player. To bad for you that you don’t like that opinion, but that’s the way I see it.
  23. But most importantly is the ML club?
  24. Not as much as some would like.
  25. Most are just SUSPECTS!
