  1. An interesting fact that Yoshida had 9 hits in the WBC. 8 of the hits came on pitchers under 90 MPH, and his other hit came on a pitch at 91. Cora wanted to make Yoshida feel more comfortable, so he batted him further down the order instead of leadoff. I’m glad that’s worked out good so far.
  2. Unless there was something wrong with Kluber physically today then Cora used up the BP when it wasn’t needed, and could have used the rest. Kluber could of had another inning in him if not two.
  3. The fans down in RF told you all you need to know. FOUL.
  4. Not surprised at all. I guess Cora figured the BP hadn’t got enough work in yet.
  5. Kluber was cruising along, and only 67 pitches in. No need to go to the pen at that point who have been used a lot already. Schreiber threw lots of pitches too for 1 inn, and Ort is following suit.
  6. This is looking more, and more like the circus from last year.
  7. Opening day for the Sea Dogs in Portland tomorrow where Whitlock will pitch his second opening day of the season.
  8. ST was just a sign of things to come. That’s pretty OBVIOUS.
  9. What is Downs, and Wong?
  10. Right now Casas has to step up. A lot is riding on him, and his hype, and if he doesn’t pan out it will be a serious blow to what has been counted on for a few years now. Maybe it’s been too cold to do his sun bathing ritual, and it’s messed him up. Hopefully that’s all it is.
  11. Ben wasn’t looking for that third option in the fork in the road.
  12. It might have been right to have had the fire sale, but to you really trust Bloom to have gotten something back that would make a difference?
  13. I was one who wanted the Red Sox to win as many games as they could last year even though making the playoffs seemed murky at best. I wanted them to resign Bogey, and I haven’t gotten over how they went about, but I’ve gotten over that he’s gone. Some wanted a fire sale, but I just didn’t see getting back a bunch of average suspects would make the Red Sox any better in the future.
  14. I’m not panicking yet, and it’s only 5 games into the season. I never wanted Bloom here in the first place, but i don’t want this team to be worse than the 2022 team either.
  15. Jet streamed!2-11 with 6K’s. What if those were Duvall’s stats? Would we go with he’s been on base every game. It’s only been 4 games, so there is plenty of time for Casas to get rolling.
  16. By that standard pace would be 300K’s.
  17. I think that what others speculated that Bogey’s fate in Boston was sealed when Story was signed, and the Red Sox saying they wanted Xander was just lip service.
  18. Taking Ball, and Groome with a #1, which didn’t work out hasn’t helped the fact that the Red Sox are, and have been pretty thin in good starting pitching from the farm.
  19. Chang at 2B tonight. Arroyo hasn’t done much of anything.
  20. I’d settle for 80-100.
  21. That’s the standard Cases is getting judged on? He has 6K’s in 11 AB, and has 1 wind blown fly ball past the Pesky Pole.
  22. So Bloom still wouldn’t have taken a pitcher?
  23. Then why was everyone on here speculating that Story be at 2B, and who would the Red Sox get to play SS? There was many post to that.
  24. Arroyo has been dreadful, and Casas has looked overmatched at the plate at times too. Kike has hit a couple of HR, but hasn’t done much else. It’s only been 4 games, and everything could change tonight, or a week from now. Maybe even the starting pitching will get better.
  25. Finally someone has admitted to what I had speculated right along that the plan was for Story to open the season as the SS before he got hurt when everyone else was wondering who the Red Sox were going to get to play SS. I haven’t even heard anyone ask after the injury until now where Story would play if, and when he comes back now. I have no idea arm wise what he will be able to do, or not do if that happens, so I have no idea where he would end up. A lot could happen between now, and then, and probably will, so I have no idea who would move where. Kike depending on what he does with the bat may be odd man out himself, but things would probably work themselves out.
