  1. I’m just saying I’m not as excited about the current crop from the farm as most of you are. I need to see more at the big league level.
  2. Especially with Casas occupying 1B.
  3. Casas I’m excited about, but the jury is still out to me on the RAF Man, Duran, Abreu, Valdez crop for next year. Did I miss anything?
  4. I’m with you on that. I was calling for Jansen in the 2022 season.
  5. Sale has been a gamble since DD signed him to that extension. That $25M could be a lot better spent on a part time player at best, which is what he’s been for three years now.
  6. So did Ted, and. so did Yaz. I’m just saying I don’t think he’s as valuable as everyone else think’s especially if he has to be moved to DH. $300M+ is a lot of money for a DH.
  7. Even if it’s as less as possible? The last 3 years convinced you?
  8. Once again i didn’t say get rid of him, but the FACT is they are a losing team with him, or without him.
  9. Of course there is nothing to complain about after ANOTHER losing team, and finishing last place in the Div. What do you think the overall opinion is in Red Sox Nation right now? Complaining, or thinking everything is red, and rosy?
  10. The Red Sox have finished in last place with a losing record the last two years with Devers. They could just as easy do the same thing without him. $300M+ is a lot of money to pay for someone who sucks on D.
  11. Those numbers are good on paper, but by watching the games did it really seem he was that good as those numbers suggest?
  12. That’s fine, but then you have to get 3 other starters to round out the rotation, because I would count on Sale. I m guessing Houck will get another chance to start next year.
  13. Raffy was far from great at 3B, and he was one of those misfit toys. I think with JT it was a combination of age, and injury. He wasn’t the same after his foot injury. If, if, and if on Story Land being open more than being closed with the bat next year. To replace JT, and Duvall’s bat you need more than Story. Big ifs, and questions abound for next year’s team to even get to 500. Don’t fear though, because Cora is going to be in on the hiring of the new GM type.
  14. Except for games started 26-32 he had a better year this year than he had in 2021.
  15. His best trait is he’s there to take his turn everyday. I would rather count on him as the 5th starter than to count on Sale at all.
  16. Hanging his head in the dugout, and staying at 3B during a mound visit when the rest of the IF was at the mound were not good looks. He should be embarrassed, and he’s definitely not any kind of leader by example.
  17. Stupid is, and stupid does. The Red Sox spent $100M on an OF who is sow afoot, and not a good OF. The Red Sox spent $300M+ on a 3B who can hit, but can’t field his position. I just don’t think that D is as a big of a deal to the Red Sox as it is to us on here. Arroyo in RF, and Franchy at 1B what a circus. If you asked Cora who is going to be at 1B, and 3B next year most likely it is going to be Casas, and Raffy. Those are the cards they dealt themselves. Call it stupid all you want. It would be great if Raffy was a complete player, but he is not, and maybe never will.
  18. But what’s your lasting impression of Yoshida this year outside of chasing balls caught in a light in the wall was beating ground balls into the infield dirt.
  19. POTENTIAL young players? Was there anything that the RAF Man did in a Red Sox uniform this year in garbage time at that get you all excited to pencil him in to start in CF next year? Portland, and Worcester yes, but what he did with his chances in Sept left a lot to be desired that he’s going to be a good ML player.
  20. FINAL COUNTDOWN! 78-84 record 4 games behind the hapless Yankees 11 games behind Toronto 21 games behind Tampa 23 games behind the O’s 9-19 in Sept 39-42 at Fenway, and broomed time, and time again. No matter how you slice, and dice it this is embarrassing, and unacceptable. Bloom was fired, and rightfully so, but there is plenty of blame to go around starting with JH, and working its way down to Cora, and yes Cora who is told he’s coming back with most likely more control right down to the players. I heard criticism of the leadership in the clubhouse from some on here last year, but I haven’t heard it this year. I wonder how come? Who is the leader? It’s certainly not the $300M man who was sulking, and hanging his head more than once this year. Thank god it’s been football season for a month now, which to me is the best time of the year. The baseball postseason will start, and once again the Red Sox are on the outside looking in, and not even close to getting there. To me this team quit in the last month when they were still in contention for the postseason. I know some on here don’t want to hear that, but I believe they did.
  21. I just herd the news, and very sad. Tim was one of those few people that you didn’t hear anything bad about, and that is hard to do.
  22. I think everyone knows he will opt out, but that doesn’t mean he won’t resign. Turner likes Boston, his wife likes Boston, and Cora likes JT. Maybe at this point in his career he doesn’t want to make another move, so a 2 year fair contract may do the trick, which I think has a better chance of happening than signing Chapman. I’m not patting myself on the back just stating facts. Just like I said that signing Bloom was a bad idea, and so was resigning Kike, who I was told by more than 1 on here that the Red Sox couldn’t have gotten anything better for $10M. How did that work out? I said the Red Sox should have signed Jansen last year, so a year late was better than nothing. To me none of these things were hard to see. There was plenty of SS stuff that came up after Story got hurt, but there was plenty of Story stuff saying he should stay at 2B too, before he got hurt. To me that was another easy decision too to return him to SS, and that’s where he his today. No patting anyone on the back, because all of these things I had pointed out made the Red Sox where they are today, which is a losing, last place in the Div team. Final answer to the question you asked before the season that NO thebRed Sox did not sign JT to be on the bench. D
  23. I don’t think Pivetta has complicated anything. He has good stretches like he did at the end in the BP, and the rotation, but let’s not forget why he was taken out of the rotation in the ist place. He shows up everyday, and is a #5 starter. I don’t see that anything has changed.
