  1. Looks like the first 4 guys in the Red Sox lineup got some new bats that worked last night. Hope the rest of the team gets theirs soon.
  2. You mean like going over the CBT last year? They didn’t need to break the bank to bring another starter who could give you 5-6 innings.
  3. I hope you are right, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
  4. Groome, and Ball did not work out.
  5. Like I keep saying the JH of today is not the JH of 10-15 years ago. What he would have done back then like resigning Betts he wouldn’t do today, so I don’t think there is any lesson to be learned from his stand point.
  6. I keep hearing this, but why wouldn’t they want to compete? What’s the downside? Just appeasing the fans would be an upside especially when they want to raise ticket prices again.
  7. It was never about the deadline for me, but the amount of time when all 3 injured P went down until they came back, and still haven’t come back 100%.
  8. Especially with the season winding down.
  9. I don’t think may be wearing down, and toast again are the same thinking. He has appeared in a lot of games.
  10. Wink may be wearing down a bit.
  11. Sale has been injured so many times foolishly I was thinking last years rehab was this years rehab, and Sale was coming back for the second time. I guess it was tangling with that TV in Worcester.
  12. If it was the other way around that Raffy came up for a contract first, and Mookie last then I believe it would be Mookie who would be here today.
  13. It hilarious I don’t hear any of the Mookie who stuff on here like when Dugy was going so good earlier in the season, or saying the trade was looking better, and better.
  14. Football. You bet!
  15. I stand corrected, but that doesn’t change the need for regular starters, so the Red Sox in a wildcard chase still wouldn’t be using anyone as an opener, or someone who isn’t on a pitch count at this point in the season. Make Red the problem instead of Bloom.
  16. Get technical on what an opener is all you want, but the main point is a regular starter in mid season form, that should have been obtained weeks ago who wouldn’t have had a pitch limit should have been the right way to go instead of waiting for 3 pitches still in a rehab mode.
  17. An over priced opener is what he is right now.How many rehab starts did he have last time compared to this time?
  18. Everyone including Bloom kept waiting for the three injured pitchers to come back, and now they are here, but at what % efficiency? Sale was rushed back, and at the moment is nothing, but an over priced opener. Normally he would have gotten more rehab starts in so he could go more than 3-4 innings, but not this time. Same with Whit who was rushed who looked good one time, and looked like he was throwing batting practice the next. Who knows what Houck will look like? Of course the Red Sox didn’t need any starters when the 3 were out, because they had Bernadino to open. Minor league operation, from a minor league HOBO.
  19. And because he was the last one standing.
  20. Halfway through Aug, and Reyes has been your best hitter. Who’d da thunk it?
  21. You might be right.
  22. Whatever it is the bats better get going sooner than later, because they will run into some good pitching against Houston.
  23. Here is the thing though, and probably what the Red Sox players, and coaches see. Toronto lost their closer for a few weeks, so what did they do go out, and get another one. Now their closer is back, and the closer they went out, and got is the setup man. Toronto lost their SS, so what did they do went out, and got a regular SS, and now for those two moves they are a better team for it. Compare that to what the Red Sox did when their SS went down before the season even started, and they lost 3 SP.
  24. I think this sums it up pretty well. Using 2 openers against Toronto was just plain minor league, and small market stuff. Everyone knew the Red Sox had 3 pitchers coming back, but the problem was how many weeks did they go with out them. Another starter at the very least was needed weeks ago, and yet Bloom did nothing.
  25. Which Red Sox OF has good stats for August?
