  1. This just started not to many years ago, and it seems to be more, and more every year. I can’t blame the players for sitting out, and I don’t see any solution that would fix the problem.
  2. But the city, and the team was not.
  3. I agree, and it’s the Bowl games that mean even less today, because of all the players who sit out.
  4. Sometimes it takes more than a year, and more than 1 boatload of money. Texas spent tons before the 2022 season, and went 68-94, but won it all last year. Spending is only part of it, and making good choices is the other.
  5. The Mets went to Japan to meet with the Yam Man that’s how serious they were.
  6. ND announced today that Alt would be sitting out the Bowl game, which was not unexpected. I think pretty much ND starting OL is gone now. So many players are now sitting out these Bowl games that you don’t get the teams that played all year, or finished the season.
  7. Even more so now it’s not a level playing field. Of course you still have to make good choices. Money didn’t get the Mets, or Padres anywhere last year, and it took a couple of years for the Rangers to cash in.
  8. The Red Sox fans have every right to complain about the product on the field especially the ones who pay the high ticket prices go to Fenway, and pay all the other high prices that goes along with being there. It’s amazing that some on here don’t understand that, and calls them crybabies among other things like it’s the fans that are in the wrong. Like you said the fans owe JH nothing. For a guy that has done so much for the Red Sox he’s a very unpopular owner, who the fans let him know anytime he shows his face in public.
  9. Wallowing in misery, and I’m just making a guess here comes from a 2 yr run now of a losing last place in the Div team. The Red Sox from top to bottom have become dysfunctional at best, and now to the point that at least 10 candidates for the HOBO position wouldn’t even interview, and one of them was in-house. The Red Sox if you listen to, and read other venues have become not the place where people want to be as Sam claimed before going out hunting for HOBO candidates. They are what their record says they’ve been. Playoffs? Did someone say playoffs? The Red Sox have dropped to a low bar, and until things change I don’t see anything to get excited about.
  10. All I’ve said is that I’m not sure these guys will live up to the hype that you, and others are counting on. Just like I think it’s a very risky proposition to go into next season with a core group in the OF of Raf Man, and Abreu. Not to mention Duran. If all these guys work out then great, but I want to see it first.
  11. I’ve seen enough through the years starting with all the homegrown talent from the 67 team to the Rice, Lynne, Evans, and Fisk teams right up to the Mookie, Bogey, and Raffy teams. Now if you can see better than me that the Mayer, Teel Anthony, and whomever else you want to throw in there that has hype is going to be the next group that takes the Red Sox to the promise land then I hope your right., but if not what have you got then?
  12. That’s true, and DD added some pieces, and I agree JH needs to spend, but I’m not so sure that the Red Sox are as likely to be as good with the young talent coming that is hyped up on here all the time. Not Mookie, Raffy, and Bogey good anyways.
  13. I don’t think there is much of a lure of coming to Boston anymore. Not for HOBO candidates, or players too. Big change, and it didn’t take long to get there.
  14. Wasn’t there a big difference when DD was in charge? The team had 3 first place in the Div finishes, a WS title, and 4 winning seasons. Look at the state of not only the whole organization, but the team now. Not only a difference, but a bad difference. Meet with the Yam Man, and pony up $400M, and let’s go full throttle, and get this done.
  15. No reason to freak out at all the 26 man is in great shape. Oh wait a minute this team has had a losing record the last two years, and very little, or anything at all has been added to change that, so if the 26 man was getting better this wouldn’t even be a blip on the radar. Even getting outbid by the mighty Royals for Lugo wouldn’t be big news, but as things are, and as things have been the last two years every single move, or non move gets scrutinized, and then scrutinized again.
  16. ND gets transfer QB from Duke. It seems like the last 4 years ND has had trouble signing, and developing their own QB, and has had to go outside to get one. Buchner was supposed to being the next big thing, and he got hurt, and sucked anyway.
  17. Maybe the Red Sox will be good again in 2028 if every single suspect lives up to their hype.🤫
  18. Moon? Moon? Is that the guy who claimed he wasn’t a Bloom guy?
  19. Ok! I’ll see if I can find another poll.
  20. I guess it must not be his birthday next year like it was this year.
  21. I don’t even know what we are talking about anymore, so I was just suggesting to agree to disagree.
  22. Therefore we disagree.
  23. Word count maybe, but I’m not the one who had a problem with some little poll that you don’t agree with the other answers, or opinion that is different from yours. It’s just a little poll that in the big scheme of things doesn’t really matter one way, or the other. It’s not going to change anything no matter how the vote went just like any poll on here.
