  1. For the last two years all you guys wanted to do was sell, sell, sell, because the team wasn’t good enough to make trades to improve the club when that would have been the time to do something instead of waiting until now when there is more of a big need, and more in need, and now to get better you want to pay, pay, and pay even more.
  2. Oh, those precious suspects. No one is saying trade THE FARM. Just some of them.
  3. Like I said it hasn’t changed since before all this FA period started.
  4. 100% wrong. Show me where I said I want to sign Monty, Gray, or Snell. Even though they all would help I’m 100% against signing any of them unless the money was right.
  5. Not at all, and I’ve been saying that since before all this offseason stuff even started. I’m not for over paying in money, and years for the Gray, Monty, and Snell types. Go make some trades. I know you guys are all in for these pitches, because the Red Sox have the big need, but I just don’t think they are worth what they will get.
  6. I’m sure The Yam Man had somewhat of an idea where he wants to play, before all this dog, and pony show even started. Money will play a big part too, but when you really get right down to it what’s the big lure of coming to Boston? Especially if he doesn’t like clam chowda like Yoshida does.
  7. I’ve said all along that I can’t see the Red Sox outbidding the Yankees, Mets, or the Dodgers, nor would I want them too. The same goes for Monty, and Snell who both will get paid more money than they are worth. Not, because they are that good, but, because they are available, and many teams are in need. Gray wasn’t worth $25M/yr either. Give up some prospects, make some trades, and make the Red Sox better, or at least better on paper.
  8. The Phillies are meeting with the Yam Man today. Could DD pull off the big heist?
  9. I worry more about Jansen who’s a year older, and his body is a year creakier than I do about Martin.
  10. As I’ve been saying right along it’s his availability, and the big need for pitching out there, and there are many shoppers with money to spend. I would rather have Monty than Snell.
  11. As the Yam Man’s price tag keeps rising, so does Snell’s, and Monty’s. There will be no mark down for Christmas.
  12. The only thing that shocked me about the Price deal was they signed him after they wouldn’t pay Lester.
  13. All sounds reasonable, so what would be the big lure for anyone to come to Boston? With Story, and Yoshida it was the money, but I can’t see the Red Sox outbidding the Yankees, Mets, or Dodgers, so it would have to be something else.
  14. Imagine if The Yam Man signs a similar deal with the Sox , and Bloom was still the HOBO.🙈🤮.
  15. This just started not to many years ago, and it seems to be more, and more every year. I can’t blame the players for sitting out, and I don’t see any solution that would fix the problem.
  16. But the city, and the team was not.
  17. I agree, and it’s the Bowl games that mean even less today, because of all the players who sit out.
  18. Sometimes it takes more than a year, and more than 1 boatload of money. Texas spent tons before the 2022 season, and went 68-94, but won it all last year. Spending is only part of it, and making good choices is the other.
  19. The Mets went to Japan to meet with the Yam Man that’s how serious they were.
  20. ND announced today that Alt would be sitting out the Bowl game, which was not unexpected. I think pretty much ND starting OL is gone now. So many players are now sitting out these Bowl games that you don’t get the teams that played all year, or finished the season.
  21. Even more so now it’s not a level playing field. Of course you still have to make good choices. Money didn’t get the Mets, or Padres anywhere last year, and it took a couple of years for the Rangers to cash in.
  22. The Red Sox fans have every right to complain about the product on the field especially the ones who pay the high ticket prices go to Fenway, and pay all the other high prices that goes along with being there. It’s amazing that some on here don’t understand that, and calls them crybabies among other things like it’s the fans that are in the wrong. Like you said the fans owe JH nothing. For a guy that has done so much for the Red Sox he’s a very unpopular owner, who the fans let him know anytime he shows his face in public.
  23. Wallowing in misery, and I’m just making a guess here comes from a 2 yr run now of a losing last place in the Div team. The Red Sox from top to bottom have become dysfunctional at best, and now to the point that at least 10 candidates for the HOBO position wouldn’t even interview, and one of them was in-house. The Red Sox if you listen to, and read other venues have become not the place where people want to be as Sam claimed before going out hunting for HOBO candidates. They are what their record says they’ve been. Playoffs? Did someone say playoffs? The Red Sox have dropped to a low bar, and until things change I don’t see anything to get excited about.
