  1. Who knows what Cora was offered before, and that was before Breslow was hired, so that offer might still not be there, or be what it was. What you would drool over, and what Cora would drool over are most likely two entirely different things. From the way Cora talked at the end of this past season when he said it doesn’t matter what you’re farm ranking is, but but what you do, or don’t do in October is what’s most important. In other words the here, and now is most important, and has been the last two years, so I don’t think Cora is drooling over what, or what might not happen down the road. You’d be drooling if things looked good in 2030.🤭🙈.
  2. The same reason that players went to Texas last year after the disastrous 2022 season even though Texas made some big signings before the 2022 season.
  3. Bogey ending up being massively overpaid by SD isn’t an issue. The issue is that Bogey should have been locked up long before he had a chance to opt-out. The CBO drama was seen throughout MLB, and beyond.
  4. It’s more than just two 78 win seasons. Letting Bogey go, and trading Mookie weren’t good looks for Boston. Not to mention that 10+ candidates wouldn’t even interview for what Sam thinks is the most prestigious job in baseball in being the HOBO of the Boston Red Sox.
  5. I don’t think the prospect of having so many suspects maybe a year , or two away with the possibility of living up to lots of hype is any lure of any FA coming to Boston. Now if the Red Sox still had Mookie, and Bogey to go with Raffy it would look a lot better.
  6. Boris is loving every second of this too.
  7. Ohtani didn’t want NY.
  8. Cohen went to Japan earlier, and had The Yam Man over to his house for dinner last night, so Cohen sounds pretty serious to me. The Yankees will also get a second meeting with the Yam Man. Sounds, and looks more, and more like NY, NY to me. So much for the Red Sox getting the last meeting.
  9. The Yam Man had dinner at Cohens house last night. I guess JH was to busy.🤫
  10. Obviously the guys like the BBQ. KC has stated they are all in to win the Div next year.
  11. True on Pepen, but he only has insight into the Red Sox offer?
  12. With multiple clauses, and incentives for both player, and team. Leaks only for Boston’s offer.🤫
  13. Who’s upset? It’s certainly not me. I’ve been saying right along I don’t want any of these overhyped, and most likely overpriced free agents signed, and I want trades to be made. I was stating a fact that the mighty Royals had outspent the Red Sox at this point, and that was a surprise. I don’t know where you got the upset theory, but you always see something that isn’t there, and run with it.
  14. That means he’ll sign any day now.
  15. According to Millikan the Red Sox have had their meeting with the Yam Man. Did Brez, and Sam close the deal?
  16. The biggest surprise so far is that the Red Sox have been outspent by the mighty Royals.
  17. The Yankees wanted Ellsbury awfully bad too that the Red Sox didn’t contest to much.
  18. Senga was a year too early. No doubt he would have gotten more this year, so that contract he signed last year looks pretty good now. Agree on bypassing by the Sox.
  19. Lester was a better pitcher, but as you pointed out before the years between Snell’s two CY have not been very good.
  20. Gray has 2 CY?
  21. Glasnow just signed a 4yr/$110M extension. How many would have done that? Good pitcher, but more fragile than Sale.
  22. The Red Sox were cheap for not paying Lester, but then they turned around, and spent more than twice as much for Price. Not paying a future HOF in the prime of his career was criminal, and Bogey should have been handled better too long before he had a chance to opt out, but i wouldn’t put these bunch of FA (Snell, Monty, or Gray) even in the same class.
  23. Whitlock hasn’t been the same since they tried to make him a starter. I thought he should get a shot at closer after his first year, but I’m not so sure now.
  24. I know I’m in the minority in thinking on this, but I just can’t see way overpaying for someone. Gray had never made more than $10M before, and now at age 34 he’s worth $25M/yr? Has he gotten that good? No. He’s just available. Monty was projected at 5/$105M before this all started, and they said he would only get a 5th yr, because that’s what it would take, and not, because he’s that good
