  1. Just a thought, or suggestion, but thanks for responding. Just throwing things out there that to me is better than the usual constant selling off of Jansen, Martin, Pivetta, or O’Neill talk.
  2. If you read my original post I said JH would have to open up his checkbook to get JR extended, so it was never going to be a 4 years vs 1.
  3. Casas would be part of the Vlad JR trade.
  4. Already known, and I should have clarified, but I was talking about the big 3. Once again thanks for chipping in.
  5. I don’t think they sign Gio without trading Sale, so that amounts to around $35M compared to just keeping Sale at $27M.
  6. Let’s get some good trade talk going. Vlad JR is rumored to be on the block. Let’s go big, and get him. Casas, and a high draft pick, or two. No sense in playing around with rentals. Get JH to open up his checkbook to extend him, and watch him, and Raffy hit back to back, and hammer away. Now that sounds like fun.
  7. When I first heard about the trade I didn’t know the Red Sox were paying Atlanta $17M, but after learning about the $17M it didn’t make sense to me financially when I thought the Red Sox were watching what came out of JH wallet.
  8. I keep hearing about $10M that was saved, but paying Gio $18M, and Sale $17M doesn’t seem like a savings to me.
  9. Number 1 it’s not an argument much to you trying to make it one. Just theories being thrown out there. Maybe Gio was just practicing to be a HR derby pitcher with the coincidence that he was going through a divorce. At any rate Brez saw fit to pay him $38M. What a deal. As always so nice to hear from you.🤫
  10. The difference is that I said most likely after the fact long after he had surgery where you did it in real time when he was signed, and before surgery was needed. The divorce theory was just what some wanted it to be instead of a physical problem on why Gio was pitching HR derby. All for the low, low price of $38M🙈🤭🤮
  11. Your welcome! Your diagnosis was he was going through a divorce, so how long did you examine Gio?
  12. Obviously Brez liked Gio pretty much.
  13. I will add that NOT being buyers might add to the chances of having another failing season next year, or more also. It doesn’t suck to entertain the idea of buying to get better for the here, and now, and also next year.
  14. The funny part too is that some on here just brushed off Gio’s bad second half collapse on personal problems, when most likely his arm was failing, and now the Red Sox on on the hoof for $38M for Gio, and $17M for Sale. Burnt to a Crisp.
  15. A pretty good month of June going 15-10, and right in the think of things for a wildcard spot. What is holding the Red Sox back somewhat is their play at Fenway where they have a losing record. Have a month in July like they did in June, and that Wildcard spot could be theirs, and yes I know it would be a disappointment to some to not be sellers, and bring back some more suspects, but to actually do some buying. That would really put Brez in a tough spot on what to do, but wheel, and deal to me would be a lot more fun than to do nothing, or worst sell. I know on here prying away some prospects would be like pulling teeth, and real painful to some, but if the Red Sox play winning ball in July you’ll just have to endure the pain, because playing in October would be fun for a change, and most important the here, and now is what it’s all about.
  16. Let’s not leave out that he also had good D behind him.
  17. Wha,wha, wha from one of the heel tag team partners.
  18. As usual your best work was when you were in hibernation, or whatever you called it.🤭🙈🤮
  19. From the guy who threw a hissy fit, took his toys, and went home, and said he wasn’t coming back. Some would say he hasn’t come back. I must be missing something if the Red Sox at the present time are a losing team, and in last place. Sounds like that scenario is coming from a loser themselves.
  20. And on the other hand imagine the Red Sox being a wildcard contender, and going to a non contender, and giving up a prospect to get someone to make not only this team better, but possibly beyond this year. How many GM’s wouldn’t do that?. Amazing that your scenario only goes one way.
  21. Maybe, but not on any of the other sports venues I venture to.
  22. It doesn’t take anything to start a selling discussion. It’s built in, and standard operating procedure on here.
  23. Some of you see things if they are here, or not. Like I’ve said many times I’m not waving Pom Poms, or a cheerleader like some, so when I point out the negativity when the team loses doesn’t mean anything either way like some of you try to make out to be . If the Red Sox make the postseason I’ll be a cheerleader like I was with the Celtics, but not until, so read into anyway you want.
  24. I’ve heard more posters on here say this team is fun to watch than the other way around, so I don’t know what you are seeing. I’ve heard about the future for the last three years on here as losing seasons just tick away. It would be more fun to me to win now instead of hoping for something that might not never come in the future. Whether you watch, or not depends on how big of a fan you are. I’m nowhere near the baseball fan I used to be. I followed the Bruins, and World Champion Celtics through the playoffs, and today it’s Nascar for me. Coming soon will be college football, so more to the back burner the Sox will go. Where baseball used to be must watch TV for me just isn’t anymore, so I find plenty of other things to watch. For the so called Red Sox super fans on here you get what you see, or think you see.
