  1. The Red Sox have picked, and choose who to offer the most money to like Yoshida. The state of the Red Sox had more to do why so many declined to be interviewed for the HOBO job. Still a ways to go till March 28, but I think JH has a pretty TIGHT grip on that checkbook.
  2. Super teams yes. Like I’ve said before that I hope the Dodgers go 162-0, and then lose in the first round of the playoffs.
  3. If JH opened up his checkbook real wide, and offered the same amount of money to the Big O, or the Yam Man, the two most likely would have gone to LA. I’m not saying it’s not money, but what I’m saying is the money could be all the same, and I think the good players would take NY, and La over Boston.
  4. Some have come to Boston, because of the money like Yoshida, Story, Price, and probably Gio, but the good ones today are getting many suitors, and get to pick, and choose where they want to go, and the money is all near the same.
  5. The good ones will get significant playing time no matter where they go.
  6. If the Red Sox could field a team of interest they would have a vastly improved team. Unfortunately claiming to to be interested in a player doesn’t land them. Good for conversation though.
  7. No! He just saying what I’ve been asking. What’s the lure of playing in Boston?
  8. Teoscar to the Dodgers. Another one got away. 1yr $23.5M.
  9. I’ve been clamoring for both to stay in the BP the last two years. They were cheap options for the starting rotation.
  10. 🙈🤭🤮!
  11. Bloom probably didn’t tell Cora to keep Kike at SS either.
  12. Schwaber got a standing O for making a routine play. Better than Franchy, but not a 1B.
  13. The lack of defenders who can field is kind of like having to play the bad cards you were dealt. Players playing out of positions is just bad roster building.
  14. Well said. Like I’ve been saying since the FA season started. The hype on starting pitching seems to be, because they are available, and teams are in need more so than the pitches are really that good, and that is driving up the price.
  15. Who would have thunk it?
  16. While you keep dreaming abut the future anywhere from now until 2026, or beyond the most important here, and now just keeps passing by. What a waste, because you’ll never get it back.🙈
  17. The team core should have been Mookie, Bogey, and Raffy, and pieces should have been added to that. None of the so called future now may never add up to these three.
  18. This I pretty much agree with. Yes Snell has won two CY. Somebody has to win them, but in between his two CY he hasn’t been all that great. Monty finished 2nd in CY voting, and someone has to do that too. Monty is more sought after now, because he had a good stretch at the end of the season, and into the postseason, and now he’s available. He wasn’t as highly thought of up until then. I have said before both Snell, and Monty would help the Red Sox, but it’s just a question are the worth the length, and cost . I don’t label pitchers, so I don’t get into Ace, or #1 talk. Snell, and Monty are the best available, but that doesn’t mean they are as good as the hype, or what hey will end up with for a contract.
  19. Their guy? He was just one of the nerds in the nerd room, and wasn’t a front guy, and shouldn’t have been one here either.🙈
  20. I mentioned this before that Jeff Bagwell, and Craig Biggio non doctors said that Story would need surgery on that elbow at some point, and it eventually did happen of course after he got to Boston. If there wasn’t a red flag on Story there should have been one. Bad signing it was.
  21. And all the while keep paying the rising ticket that seem to rise every year when the results don’t. Like I’ve said before one poster on here would be content as long as the future looked bright it would be alright if the team didn’t go so called all in, and produce until 2035, or 2036. Astonishing.
  22. Great follow up!
  23. Agree, and I’ve been saying that for two years that the here, and now is what’s most important, and that promising future that some keep dreaming about on here may turn out to be nothing, but a bad, bad dream.
  24. Agree 100% that you don’t have to wait until the team is good to invest in good pitching. Look how much pitching has gone up in the last few years including this one. Gray got $25M this year at 34 years old when he had never made more than $10M before. Snell, and Monty will end up with handsome paydays too. I’m sure Monty could have been gotten a lot cheaper two years ago then he will end up now. Keep putting off making the rotation better, and the team won’t get better, and then you’re also waisting away Raffy’s prime years too. Wait until 26, 27, 2028 or whatever to go the so called all in is just unacceptable.
  25. I’ve been saying all offseason to let’s see what the 26 man looks like on March 28.
