  1. Who said anything about a complete game???
  2. I think the Red Sox are content at this point to go with what they have now, and hope, and take their chances that things will somehow work out with the rotation.
  3. The point to me is if you just use a starter in the first place you might not even need 1 inning from the Bern Man at all, or any other opener. Nothing clever about that scenario at all.
  4. We’ll see. Pivetta has been good at times before, but he’s never had the consistency over a full season. It’s a contract year too, so sometimes that works out as a good thing.
  5. I’m going out on a limb here, but I don’t believe the Red Sox believe in that concept, and if they do they’ve done a pretty poor job implementing it.
  6. The point I missed was you saying guarding the 1st, and 3rd base line was the same as the shift. As for the opener in baseball in my opinion it’s the stupidest thing that baseball has come up with.
  7. 🙈🤭🤮!
  8. Exactly. Like I’ve said outside of Gio, Bello, and maybe Pivetta the rest are just cheap options, which the Red Sox love, and probably all of the rest will get a shot at various times this year.
  9. It took him a long time to get Bailey as the pitching coach.
  10. If the SP is that bad that the BP long relievers have to come in, and go 4+ innings very often it’s not going to matter that much anyway.
  11. Seems like the only thing Bloom was bold on was Yoshida.
  12. I figured it out with Whit in 2021, but I guess Cora doesn’t agree.
  13. He’ll have quite an act if he can pull this one off.
  14. As I’ve summarized the last two years is that Houck, and Whit keeps getting tryouts in the starting rotation is, because they are cheap options, and not, because they are really that good. It’s easier, and cheaper to get BP arms.
  15. Agree 100%.👍
  16. Pivetta’s stuff played up better in the pen too after he got taken out of the rotation, but unfortunately it doesn’t look like any more pitchers aren’t coming from FA, and no trades are going to be made, so the rotation has to be filled out from somewhere just like they have tried with Houck, and Whit the last two years.
  17. I agree, and especially Whit who I’ve been saying for two years that he should stay in the pen when others on here disagreed.
  18. Who said I think Wink has a better track record at starting. I’m just repeating what Bres said that Gio, Bello, Pivetta, and Kut Man would be the starters, and the other spot would come from the 3 I mentioned. I repeat this was from Bres, and not me, so feel free to go after Bres. I’ve been saying this since the report came out a week, or two ago, but you were probably to engrossed in Bauer or trying to count how many declined to interview for Bres job. Try to keep up a little.
  19. Nobody has even said Houck is even going to be in the rotation yet.Houk, Whit, and Wink will vie for the 5th starter.
  20. Maybe it’s looking for that 3rd option in the fork in the road that seems to be the organizations identity now.
  21. I guess I was just waiting for Tom to start The Let’s Go Red Sox chant.
  22. To me outside of SP the outfield is still a big unknown to me. Duran, Raf Man, and Abreu. Nobody at this point knows what you got there.
  23. What part of the lever pulling didn’t you understand?
  24. I agree, but I’m not starting with a 78 win baseline. It’s a whole different season. If the Red Sox could go back, and replay last season all over again that 78 may be better, and it also may have been worse.
  25. Here’s the thing. If somehow the Red Sox have a winning season, and somehow get into the postseason it will be full throttle again next year, because pulling all those levers worked.
