    KC is TBD. It was pretty much a wasted year for him, and he’s still a player without a position. Mayer can be moved around, and his glove will travel with him, but KC is going to have to hit for him to stick in Boston. Being rushed into the lineup last year after a not so good ST did him no good at all IMO. I guess the Red Sox were trying to show the contract they gave him so soon was warranted. Last year it wasn’t. He may turn it around, and then again he may be another Grissom. As I said TBD.

    Yes, another big day for Love, and ND. Carr didn’t have a particular good game today with 2 bad interceptions, and 2 great catches by Fields made Carr look better than he really was. Carr also took a couple of big hits today.

    I think it’s easier to assume both Masa, and Hicks will be with the Red Sox, and go from there.

    Good one. Always trying to get rid of Masa, and Hicks like all the other teams are beating down the door to get em, and take them off the Red Sox hands' and payroll.🤫

    I don’t see the Red Sox trading any young pitching unless they are getting an established starter back.

    You make it sound so simple, which it would not be. Even if someone stole JH checkbook the Red Sox wouldn’t outbid any of the Big boys that would go after him once he became a FA.🙈🤭

    I doubt JH cares what BTV says either, but how wide he has to open his checkbook. No matter what happens to Skubal this year, which most likely he will remain in Detroit, and after that he will wade into the FA pool where he will come out a very rich man from one of the big spenders, which the Red Sox are not. To think Skubal has any kind of chance to end up in a Red Sox uniform.🙈

    Ah the Red Sox special. Sign an injured pitcher to a two year contract, and hope you get something good out of him for 1 year. The old 2 for 1 deal. What a deal. Especially for a loser.🙈

    Just that it takes away many of the moves that Cora had to make, or platoon. Once again I’m not saying Cora doesn’t like to platoon, but there is more than one reason on why he does platoon, and not just, because he likes to. 👋

    Yes. If the Red Sox had a stable healthy 2B would the Red Sox gone through 11 of them in 2024, or as many 2B who played there last year, or does Cora just like revolving doors, and turnstiles just to get more players involved?

    If Story, and Casas hadn’t been injured so much the past three years how many of the players that went through SS, and 1B would have?

    No disagreement on that. Both are true.

    I’m not disputing Cora likes to platoon at all, but just saying there are other reasons for the moves he makes than just, because he likes platoons. I would think he would have rather had a healthy Story, and Casas the last three years instead of having a revolving door at SS, and 1B. Also would rather have a stable starter at 2B that has been a turnstile.

    I would change his approach completely. First good pitch whale away. He should be up there looking to take a hack first, and not looking to take a walk, and then taking a walk back to the dugout after getting called out on a third strike.

    I can’t see Story going to 3B. 2B definitely if Cora will make the move.

    How could I forget about Kike at SS? Story, and Casas missed so much times the past few years, and that’s why the Red Sox went through so many different players at those positions, and not, because Cora likes to platoon. 2B is a different kind of situation where no one has been able to play halfway decent to stay there, and not, because Cora likes to platoon. That’s my point.

    Did he love Franchy at 1B, or Arroyo in RF in Fenway, or did he just not have any other option? Casas at 1B, or a Toro/Romy combo. Injuries, or not another option? Having 11 different 2B in 2024 was quite a platoon. How’d that work out?

    Ending the season not being able to pitch in the postseason made this an easy decision to me, and a right decision IMO.

    And like I said in the previous post before this one, and because the Red Sox haven’t been able to come up with a somewhat FT player at 2B, which is why they used 11 different 2B in 2024, which he was one of them. I’m not downplaying his contribution, but why it got there in the first place, and why it still gets more playtime.
