  1. So Skubal could get $20M+ next offseason, which will be his last arbitration year?
  2. At the moment Cro Man has the upper hand in all of this. Like I keep saying the Red Sox are going to have to come up with an offer to good to refuse without an early opt-out.
  3. All is very true, but remember this is the Red Sox were talking about.
  4. Let’s remember that while Cro Man has good stuff he’s still an unproven commodity with only 1 year of 100+ innings. With the Red Sox rash of injuries lately anything can happen.
  5. I haven’t said anything about what I would do. All my post have been speculating what the Red Sox would do, and the lack of confidence I have in the Red Sox Baseball ops to make a long term offer with no opt-outs that will be acceptable to Cro Man for 4 years, or beyond. The trade was made with only two years of control, which some on here have complained about given the prospects the Red Sox gave up. If you have confidence in Brez fine, but I’m on a wait, and see.
  6. Do you have confidence the Red Sox are going to offer Cro Man an offer he can’t refuse with no opt-out that’s at least 4 years, or more?
  7. I said like a Bogey 6 yr contract with an opt-out after three, which he took. The Red Sox would have to make the offer awfully good for Cro to make it longer than that, which I’m not all that confident the Red Sox can, or will do. Three years of control is better than two, but no doubt 4+ would be better.
  8. Agree. JD held the Red Sox hostage for a couple of years.
  9. I’d be very surprised if an opt-out isn’t included like a Bogey type at 3 years.
  10. Story has three years left on his contract. Haven’t heard if the Red Sox are trying to work out an extension with Casas like they were last year. I’m guessing not.
  11. I’m not for bringing them all back at all. I was pointing out a little tidbit that was left out that all were injured last year including Raffy who had a bad shoulder from early in the season.
  12. Losing combo yes, but Story was out most of the year. Casas was out a good part of the year. Grissom was hurt in ST, which carried over into the regular season, and then came back, and had injuries again. Masa was out a part of the season too. Hardly an accurate preview of things to come if healthy.
  13. Well said, and agree 100%. Yoshida probably doesn’t like just to DH, but the OF is full of players better than him, which wasn’t the case when Bloom swooped in, and blew the competition away, and overpaid to sign him.
  14. There is no secondary. As of now primarily to me means he’ll be the DH unless someone else platoons against LHP. I don’t see Bregman, or Arenado coming to Boston unless Yoshida, or Casas are gone packing. Bregman may be a short term fix at 2B, but I’m not to enthralled with that idea.
  15. I just don’t see any, zero, or zilch scenarios where Yoshida would go back out in the OF ever again for the Red Sox.
  16. Of all the things I have read the MOST UNLIKELY thing I think would happen is Yoshida still in a Red Sox uniform standing out in LF with a glove on his hand.🤭🙈.
  17. Sale may have been the final straw. We’ll see.
  18. I’m guessing JH just hates paying out the past few years all the money he has had to pay out for players either on the IL, or players playing for other teams. Especially $17M to Atlanta last year for not only Sale playing for them, and winning the CY to boot, so all make it sound so easy on here to DFA Yoshida, trade Yoshida, and eat all his salary, or send him to the minors. None of that makes any financial sense at all , which JH sees more than worrying about who doesn’t fit where on the roster. The Red Sox haven’t participated in the Postseason the last three years, because of the Raffy, Casas, and Yoshida doesn’t fit where people think they should fit.
  19. Like I keep saying. The Red Sox are just playing the cards they have delt themselves. Raffy was paid as a 3B, and is here for his bat. Casas is here for his bat, and even Yoshida is here for his bat. It would be great if Raffy could field like Mike Lowell did, but he can’t. It would be great if Casas could play 1B like Boomer Scott did, but he can’t.
  20. For the thousands of times you have mentioned it, but NO ONE on the Red Sox from JH on down are not blind to the Fact that Raffy is not a good 3B. It just hasn’t been that big of a concern to them like it is to you, and others on here to make drastic moves, which is what it would be to fix it up to this point in time.
  21. Because Bloom who was the star of the show is no longer there?🤫
