I don’t know about a haul for any of the OF. Abreu has been a platoon, and I think Duran’s value was higher last year at this time.

I’ve been saying for the past few years that you don’t have to wait until you go so called all in to improve the club, because you are not guaranteed something better will come along that you are willing to afford.

I don’t really think the RED Sox really want to trade for someone with 5 yrs left on their contract that will take them to 36-37 yrs anymore than they want to sign a FA under the same circumstances, and I think that’s what’s holding up any Bregman signing. McAdams already reported an agent told him the RED SOX didn’t want to sign any long term FA contracts.

OMG! 2026 is the here, and now, and you don’t give up a year for anything, because you’ll never get it back. 2027 isn’t guaranteed for anything, and I’m not even going to think about 2027 until next offseason. If you’re not going to play to win then don’t play at all, and I’ll say that every time.🙈

    👍👍👍.

I think right now Brez, and BorASS are having a tug of war on the length of a contract for Bregman.

If Bregman gets at least 5 years I hope it’s with someone else. NO opt-outs either.

First of all Casas has to get healthy, and then he probably needs to go down to WOO for a little while, and see what happens, and then go from there. I’m counting on Masa still being on the team, so nothing new there.

That’s the total proof? Of course it couldn’t have been the better than good starting pitching over an extended period of time from CRO MAN, Gio, and Bello that made the record what it was over that time period. We’ll never know, but I think it had more to do with the pitching than it did with RAFFY leaving, and I’ve always have thought the Red SOX would have had an even better record if RAFFY had stayed not to mention making a difference in the PS.

    🙈🤭🤮.

The screwup wasn’t about last year, and Duran has always played in the field. Nothing new. Think Raffy would have helped the RED Sox going further against the YANKEES IN Yankee Stadium in the playoffs?🤔

A Self Inflicted Man Made screwup.
  13. Old Red
Detroit, and Houston both offered 6 yrs last year.
  14. Old Red
Yes, and SF unloaded Hicks on the RED Sox. I wouldn’t give up on Casas though. He needs to get healthy, and spend some time down in Woo to get straightened out.
  15. Old Red
They couldn’t trade CASAS last year, and is LESS desirable now in a trade.Mybe throw in Hicks, and Masa to get it done.🤔
  16. Old Red
Rebuild/cliff, or whatever you want to call it was self inflicted, and didn’t have to happen.

I agree on Mayer to a point. Mayer lost a lot of developmental time in the Minors due to injury, and more time down there wouldn’t hurt him. Sitting on the bench against LHP doesn’t help him either. Mayer is still a Suspect at this point to me.
  18. Old Red
Trading Abreu would be alright too.
  19. Old Red
I agree on only one, and I agree on Bregman.
  20. Old Red
I don’t think the Red Sox would give AZ whatever they want, but just like getting Crochet the Red SOX had to give up something good to get something good, and dealing to get Marte wouldn’t be any different, nor should it be. Most of the trade ideas I read on here mostly favor the RED Sox, and that’s not going to get things done.
  21. Old Red
I would roll the dice, and put Mayer at SS, but only if he’s going to play everyday. Signing FA is a way to go like Bregman, but it’s also expensive for a longer period of time, and I think that’s the big hang up right now with doing so.
  22. Old Red
    Money, Money, and more MONEY.
  23. Old Red
If Mayer was to start at 2B he would most likely do some platooning with Romy, so you don’t need 2 more IF.
  24. Old Red
So not getting Bregman, or Marte would be falling back to what plan? Mayer is still an injury risk, and a platoon player at that at this point.
  25. Old Red
Losing Duran, or keeping Duran is not going to make, or break the ball club IMo.if you can improve the ball club in other areas, which improves the ball club you do it.
