  1. Checking in 8:45 to watch the sweep in Fenway. I sense some provocative, irritating posts coming today. Fred Lynn needs an accomplice
  2. Mariners down to Rangers in 11th by 2 runs 2 on, no outs for Texas
  3. Great win and jump the Yankees. Surely there is one pitcher in Worcester with better skills than Alcala. He needs the DFA ticket home
  4. Al Cala is a truly awful thrower. Complete dog
  5. Toro made the wrong decision going to the bag first, then making a bad throw Duran made a timely , great throw. Whitlock remains an enigma to me. Lots of junk, gets hit hard
  6. Defensive positioning jeopardizing this inning
  7. Toro made the wrong decision going to the bag first, then making a bad throw Duran made a timely , great throw. Whitlock remains an enigma to me. Lots of junk, gets hit hard
  8. It will take a snowman 8 to win this game. Let's see who gets to that number first. Battle of the BP's and the hitters. Would be exceptional to take the series today
  9. Thought they may have caught the guy at 3rd but ball bounced away from Bregman That was a true middle/middle meatball to Diaz. early exit for Buehler
  10. And could be getting leg weary but still 2 months to go. No help in sight, unless Wong can keep getting a few hits. They probably need to go 3 games Narvaez and 2 games Wong.
  11. BTW, Narvaez has definitely lost his hitting magic.
  12. Why, I ask for the 49th time, Red Sox pitchers cannot do well after 2 outs , giving up the dreaded 2 out walk followed by an HR. They are just not quite ready, or in Buehler's case capable. Then the LOBster parade following Romy's HR instead of the other way around. This team doesn' t hit until the 7th inning.
  13. Why would this be a surprise ( and disappointment) to anyone except the Sox medical staff ? Pitching arm flexor problems almost inevitably wind up this way. Rest and low intensity rehab does not cure it unless you never plan to pitch again, which is likely for Tanner Houck.
  14. Critical series right off the TDL with Astros and the best we can put on the mound is Cooper Criswell and not use May for several days ?? I guess it takes awhile to get the lettering on the jersey . It will take some work to win 1 of this series. Thanks, FO.
  15. Bernardino may just be needing a rest. But I would rather have him available than junk ball Murphy . Murphy's total reliance on breaking balls will confuse most umpires. Bernie is no strikeout arm but he is better than Murphy.
  16. I am convinced that Breslow would not move any current player out of the clubhouse to avoid repercussions from his own players. However, he did not survey them to see what the reaction would have been if a pitcher of Ryan's resume was the get.
  17. Breslow made it pretty clear, for him anyway, that he was not going to disturb the current roster and move any players out of this clubhouse. An echo reverberating from the Devers move ? Craig is betting the house that this team will ease into the WC mix and be a playoff team , justifying any moves-non move decisions. If he is right , he goes into the off season dealing from strength . If he is wrong and the dreaded post TDL 2 months become the abyss of prior seasons, then he gets fired. The nexxt 12 games will be a strong indicator of whether he is right or wrong.
  18. With all the focus on the dead drop TDL, the upcoming schedule gauntlet will either silence some Breslow/JH critics or bring out the best worst in all of us critiquers. Starting tomorrow, the Sox play 6 of those vs Astros ( home/home)(62-47) AL Central leaders, 3 vs SD Padres ( 60-49 ) on the west coast, and 3 vs the KC Royals who are 1 game under .500 today. 52 games to go and these 12 will further define if our guys can continue competing at over a .500 clip.
  19. But remember, TC is a slow starter so you must add 3-4 months to the physical healing Even then he is a weak fielder
  20. Little difference in outcomes between CB and CB. It is now up to the players to make a difference.
  21. I think a number of posters predicted this outcome. Lots of arm waving but no real movements. I said Bres likes this roster and Henry likes the current budget. They are what they are
  22. We , being TalkSox geniuses, are not worried about the CBT. Our buddy JH and his protege CB are very aware of it. The prior CB, CBO, made a major mistake a few years ago on that matter.
  23. Matz is a plug, not an asset of significant value. He may help a tired BP and may actually be a strike thrower which could be why RH'ers hit him well. Matz is now listed on the 40 man roster. Interesting that with Casas in somewhat no man's land looking forward ( needs to re-earn 1B) that Bres traded the highest ranking 1Bman in AAA
  24. I'm thinking that Breslow said, what the Sox need is another version of myself from 2013 and picked up LH'er Matz. Not a splash move but Matz could be a 2-3 inning opener , or a reliever taking some pressure off Bernardino. Will be surprised if Craig does anything more significant . The reality is that Breslow likes this roster and JH likes its cost. So status quo reigns in the Nation.
