  1. Kudos to the scouting dept, and to TB for trading Archer and picking Pitt's pocket
  2. So you say there's a chance ? Red Sox have not yet lost the requisite minimum 60 games, so there is that.
  3. Very timely hit by Chavis. He's good for the 2 runs no one else wanted
  4. WTF Devers. Did the guys on base distract you ?
  5. Bogey will lose this ball and score 3 runs with it Uh oh, the Chavis infection is spreading to Bogaerts. That was a terrible AB
  6. Right, one of those two actually matters because it is no longer early in the NHL
  7. Laz Diaz. Another of the super umps in MLB.
  8. LOB, LOB, LOB. Storyline of the year.
  9. Best way to improve the Sox bullpen would be to pitch them vs the Sox hitters in a simulated game
  10. If you hadn't seen it in some recent seasons under Farrell, you wouldn't believe how the WS winner can go from the best to mediocre over one off season. See you fellows later.
  11. Price will probably deliver an excellent start, and turn this ship around. Snell going tomorrow will be its own challenge.
  12. It's too late now after the 4 run ninth, but the first two Pawtucket guys (Chavis/Hernandez) get on base and Devers, then Vazquez cannot score them. Nunez puts the nail in the coffin. He can't even strike out without hurting someone
  13. True, but the other three were hit sharply. At least no walks. The real point is that he no real out pitch or velocity to get him out of that inning.
  14. It's an eyeball stat but when a reliever gets past 20 pitches in an inning, their effectiveness goes downhill fast. Taylor is at 33 now and getting scored on heavily
  15. You are correct on Shawaryn numbers so far. The real point is the Sox were probably not counting on him by early June this year. Maybe he can be a contributor. Taylor will be in Pawtucket before the second game starts.
  16. WTF is LeVangie going to talk to Taylor about ?? Do better , son.
  17. Taylor is looking like a real peachpit himself. Real quick off the mound. This is AAA we are watching
  18. 3 pitchers today who should still be at Pawsox. Smith, Shawaryn and Taylor. Brewer could use some work there too. Weber is now gone . 23 pitchers have earned stats for the Sox this year . Aside from the 5 original starting pitchers, that is 18 guys out of the pen looking for about 6 reliable relievers.
  19. I'm not seeing a lot of beards on the Rays pitchers. Could be they are not old enough to grow one . Otherwise, I'd suggest our guys start shaving and see if that helps.
  20. Pretty good assessment of this OF. I wish this was Mookie's contract year . He is a real letdown.
  21. Perkins was the perfect actor for that role. Wackier than Piersall himself.
  22. On a serious note, the Rays have had good pitching for about a decade or more with virtually no budget. Some person(s) must have been in charge of the pitching development. Why hasn't John Henry busted out the checkbook and hired away those people? What exactly does Brian Bannister , the Sox VP of Pitching Development, see coming here over the next few years ? It's yet manifested itself on the mound.
  23. You're missing Bad News Bears. Matthau should have been awarded the Oscar for that classic. Who recalls "Fear Strikes Out" ?
  24. SS has made the fatal first reference to "Next year". Mark it down on June 8, 2019. DD really does have some major work cut out for the next off season.
  25. I think that is a good idea Swi. It will only get more frustrating expecting some type of a turnaround. Check back in late July. JBJr may be hotter than the weather by then.
