  1. I don't think Rick P will be happy to be pulled after 6 and 80 pitches, from his personal perspective. AC is looking to nail the win and avoid the late Porcello ball.
  2. The killer instinct has been missing most of this season. Scoring key runs late in the game, without HR's. Glad to get the one more , but it was time for a 2 or 3 run double right there
  3. JBJr is officially hot . He completely gets jammed , but makes a double out of it.
  4. Porcello with 66 pitches through 5, could go deep (8th) if he can avoid the Porcellos.
  5. Benentendi, with lower power #'s this year looks a lot more like a #6 or #7 hitter than leadoff. A .420 SLG % is low among the top 6 or 7 RS regulars and the .355 OBP is about the same.
  6. The obligatory Porcello but not a high pitch. Medium low and outside taken for a ride by Vlad Jr. Now we will need more runs.
  7. Watched two AB's so far, and Vaz is anything but s"still" waiting for the pitch. He's jiggling and bat waving , not wildly, but not "quiet" either. So far a strikeout and a jam shot grounder. He needs to listen to you.
  8. Bogaerts taking the outside pitch to right field was classic and far better than questioning of its judged position. He can be a lethal hitter to RF.
  9. Sandy advances the runner and proves his worth by not K'ing
  10. Bradley mau get a lot of PO's and perhaps an assist, if Porcello keeps the ball up, like he often does. Just hope one or more don't fly over the wall.
  11. That they do. But, maybe a few of the Sox could focus on striking the ball that's on the edge rather than outguessing the umpire. Take an outside edge ball to the oppo field for instance. Golf a marginal low ball 510' to CF. Joking a little but Betts, Bogey, now Chavis all like to call their own balls/strikes, but take some pretty good center cut strikes.
  12. Will be looking for that as Vaz DH's vs Blue Jays tonight. Good Eyes after all, mal
  13. 12-2 win one night and 10-3 loss the next. Now that's the 1950's era Red Sox . Back to my young days. Still somewhat early but the trend is not this team's friend yet. Come June, the "early " BS will start to fade as various personnel decisions will need to be made if they intend to be serious contenders.
  14. How about processed beef. As when I pass filet mignon through my digestive system to create fertilizer for a plant based garden
  15. What inept pitching. 16 pitches, 2 walks, a hit, a run, no one out, the game going away very rapidly. 23 pitches and no outs, 2 runs across. The Sox cannot afford to carry any players who bring nothing to the game. Tyler may be suffering from his physical limitations after surgery, but feel free to retire if you can't do it anymore.
  16. EROD's one consistency is the inabilty to deal with adverse conditions that materialize during his pitching stints. Pitching with 2 outs also seems to bother him . When he goes, he blows. That is why Cora came out to talk to him before he eventually blew it all tonight. This is not a high leverage, focused individual.
  17. So Thornburg is still in the BP, and still walking leadoff hitters----for now. There is an audition going on Tyler, and you are not helping yourself.
  18. i think Cora came out to habla some Espanol to Erod because of his history of complete meltdowns when he gets hit. The confidence goes to hell and he starts aiming and grooving pitches. No guts there
  19. Ahhh, the obligatory HR on a change up to the .240 hitter.
  20. Cora has enough to do just running the lineup and game action. I doubt he has the CFO in the dugout, checking the AI to predict the value of a players contribution in a given situation . If asked, Cora might say, just get the last 9 outs and we will all get paid.
  21. At Koji's best, he was the GOAT. Rivera had a longer career but the Sox seemed able to beat him when needed.
  22. 2021 ? Otherwise known as just in time for CF , unless DD makes a deadline or hot stove move . I'm guessing JBJr will be asking $10MM in 2020 arb. What would the Sox offer ? No more than $8MM, maybe less. JBJr's 2020 cost , unless traded, will be a low priority until Mookie decides to come back or go away .
  23. I can picture Brock, upon his return from IL, issuing a play me or trade me demand in lieu of assignment, about 10 minutes before he slips and falls injuring himself in the shower
  24. Well, everyone enjoy Victoria ( Victory) Day, take a laugher whenever you can get one
  25. With Velasquez brought in to finish this game, I guess Cora is telling Brewer and Thornburg, don't sign any long term leases in Boston
