  1. 6 straight 2 out hits. most with 2 strikes. ? That hurts. Sox will need to score 10 today
  2. I always wanted the Sox to get Springer 5 or 6 years ago. Always hit the Sox well
  3. Cedanne saves energy by hitting the ball just far enough for runs. Sox beating a better pitcher than. PS
  4. The book on Duran is so simple that every pit her has it They all pitch him low away fading change up and he chases like a dog after a bone
  5. The book on Duran is so simple that every pit her has it They all pitch him low away and he chases like a dog after a bone
  6. Nice grab by Mono SS position saves another set if throws by PS who is at 44 through 2
  7. He doesn't think. he just reacts to whatever red flag gets waved in front of him. He just about broke a finger diving into 1st and sliding into 2nd.
  8. PS escapes his unpreparedness but makes it a heavy BP game. Probably done by 4th inning
  9. Simple bouncer play for Sandoval and he muffs it after an 0-2 count
  10. It will be quite interesting when Arias does arrive to see developed or undeveloped he actually is. Given the history of sox MiLB players from Pawsox and Woosox from Casas to K Campbell to Rafaela through Mayer and Anthony, none have been MLB fully ready. Yes, they can play and have shown signs of potential success, but breakthrough stars? Not so much. Why the pressure on Franklin Aris to now be the key to multiple WS titles. It has taken this 3rd season for Cedanne to show what his maturing upside may be., and it looks good.. However, it has taken devlopmental time to reach that level. I would hate to burn Arias mentally , maybe like Campbell, by surging him through the system unless it is a 100% gold plated certainty that he is ready.
  11. I always thought speed vs a slow catcher was a key to the 9th slot. Why put a turtle in front of your best hitters ? Duran's stats make him a fit for #9
  12. I have almost no concerns about the existence of Trevor Story . He will not be a near term factor on the field for Boston until September and probably should be told, Trevor we need you at 2B . I stick with the fact that 2027 will be a bastardized short season and Story's contract , along with Yoshida's, will be affordable to just DFA them, if not involved in a winter trade. But no club is going to take an expiring contract from a marginal player until 2027 CBA is signed and predictable.. So don't lose sleep over Story. If the Sox do reach the playoffs , maybe a veteran around might be helpful, if he can actually play at all.
  13. Based on his hitting to date, i would say Mayer is a glove first utility player. How is he much different than Gonzalez, Cheng, Seigler , except that at 23 he may have much more development to come ala Cedanne Rafael. Marcello may need 2 full MLB seasons to determine his actual production vs potential. His advantage over other utility guys is that he is 23 and has the time to mature.
  14. To me, this game is notable after the predictably dead effort behind Rivera once the streak of '46 was matched. The Sox hitters looked like the April-May version and opener pitching was no better. Sox are pitching a guy in Sandoval that they wasted literally millions on for a 1.5 years and now are in need of a legit 5th starter , so can he show up ? Can the hitters resume their Fenway hitting that made the 15 wins doable in front of great starting pitching and stellar relief ? The 15 game run put them in the playoff picture but now they need to show it wasn't just a nice run returning to mediocrity. Looking for some energy at home tonight and a better lineup than Game@ vs Orioles. Do not re-muddy the TDL waters, boys.
  15. How did Anthony's torn ligament in his ring finger come to now be described as a sore wrist ? It took awhile to get Casas out of our minds and future , but is Anthony becoming chronic. Hope not, I would actually like to see if he can play MLB baseball for an extended run.
  16. Alluding to earlier comments that the Sox will run out of quality pitching before they run out of games. Breslow needs a SP who can reliably get 6 innings in August/September even if he has a 5.00 ERA. The streak will prove to be both a blessing and a curse, in that the Sox will not get max value from expiring contracts.
