  1. Yoshi in left is always a shot in the dark . Would you not flip flop Yoshi and Anthony position wise ? I guess the idea is that you need to get Masa out there at some point, but backing Crochet may not be the right day. You know this is a showcase for the TDL.
  2. So it seems the superstition that the A-S break will suck the life out of a hot team is correct after all. And it seems to be up and down the lineup and bench. Yoshida's 2 hits look good in the box score but he couldn't also PH when men were on base.
  3. Fitting that Ryan Brasier shuts off the 9th inning to complete the shutout. All on Crochet for tomorrow, because he will be lucky to get the 1 run needed to win.
  4. Unless Crochet gets the win tomorrow, you may be looking at the summer swoon. The fact that they are lifeless at the bat is very strange
  5. How could Murphy not be ready for 2 consecutive innings ? Serving deep dish meatball pizza to some real hitters.
  6. Agree with all about PH'ing for Wong. Inexcusable to let him hit. I know the bench is LH'ed, except for the other catcher, Narvaez. He is no sure thing but better than Wong who is a SURE THING---OUT
  7. F Pop Wong . Never again come up with runners on or even show up in the clubhouse.
  8. A completely winnable game with 12 outs to go. But no spark in the batting order . Abreu , Duran, Mayer all waiting for a RH reliever.
  9. Poor call but Bregman did advance the runner . it was Gonzalez's inability to hit the F'ing ball that sunk them.
  10. Refsnyder can't throw out a guy tagging from medium left in a small ballpark? This team has too many OF'ers ? Well, he did get a leadoff double , but it was Bello's leadoff walk that scored. The difference in two teams.
  11. So glad Wong maintains his RBI total at 1 and extends his 0 for the season with RISP's. This L/R matchup BS puts a weak lineup on the field.
  12. Never ready for the first inning. Again, same as April/May
  13. As the air slowly pfffffffts out of the balloon. All Wong's fault for call the first pitch as a gopher ball
  14. Always enjoy watching a MLB pitcher work over less experienced guys.
  15. Not et any sort of a critical win but it would be an important one to get into this series with Crochet going tomorrow. Bello needs to show up and hold the Cubs to 2 runs over 7 innings. That's an order !
  16. Interesting how K Campbell goes from making the 26, playing like a ROY for a month and is now almost an afterthought between 1B , 2B and utility player. If this kid's head is not messed up by now, he will make a resurgence in 2026, but positions are at a premium, pending Bregman's option outcome. Mayer's role on the team while seemingly 2B isn't a lock yet either. If Bregman goes, Mayer goes to 3rd, opening up 2B yet again. Also don't lose sight of the fact that before Casas was injured , he couldn't hit anything . Yeah, he is a slow starter like that's an excuse. Triston i will be at ST, if healed, but I would say he is on thin ice depending on Campbell's progression at 1B or an acquisition. Overall the positioning and permanence of the infield crowd is in flux.
  17. So 1 down, 63 to go to see where this bunch winds up. Not an auspicious first game but take the next 2 and all will be well. The Sox looked sluggish after the break, and the first 3 Cubs hitters sealed the outcome. Never will figure out why Sox pitchers have trouble in the first. They avoided that during the 10 game W streak. Watch some video boys and get on track.
  18. How the heck is Drew Pomeranz still pitching in MLB ? Anthony ropes it but needed a little more launch angle. Maybe he can learn from Abreu. Way too many LOBsters today killing the effort to win 11
  19. You just saved me with stats from saying that as a fan, I would much prefer to keep Duran than Abreu. Appreciate the data to correct that eyeball favoritism
  20. I know that overall Weissert has been an asset and effective, but does he ever get the first guy he faces ? Not often enough.
  21. Perfect managerial choice for the mid-century mediocrity of the Red Sox under Yawkey
