  1. Of course, Wong set the story for his season breaking his pinky on an interference play
  2. Narvaez better watch out or he'll get Wonged up side the head . To bad Connor would miss him with his bat
  3. Sox are sort of touching "all the bases" today with mistakes, not being ready for first inning, always LOBs, needing 2 out hits , etc. Gio is holding the fort but the hitters needs to get over their Dia-Rea
  4. Narvaez , of all Sox, should have benefitted from a few days off but he looks tired leg catcher material right now
  5. Terrible , idiotic read by Toro. Worcester beckons, ABE That was a rally killer
  6. Abreu seems to be a slugger not a hitter. Maybe a #7 slot is more appropriate, until he gets traded
  7. It didn't take long to expose the late second half slumpers. 2 K's in first inning , walks and HR by Gio, pop-ups lost in sun. The bombs are falling and this team needed a wake up call , so here it is. Gio at 22 pitches before recording an out. Trade the whole team now. OK, so pushed the sarcasm button a little early. Pent up excitement over the Red Sox after 4 day withdrawal. Plenty of time for a comeback win after all.
  8. Unbelievable, but believe it , finish to the A-S break. Best since 2018. Wonderful to see pitching and key hitting come together. Just nice to be watching a winner for a change.
  9. But a streak and breakout of young players has been so long in coming, with so many failed bottle rockets along the way and Ownership misdirection that it must be celebrated in a big way . the next challenge is to avoid the August-September funk that sunk the last 3 Sox seasons. Oh, and the trade deadline. Will Breslow be reluctant to break up the core now. He may need to spend some to get some if starting pitchers wreck knees covering first base.
  10. Timely observation but Story and Rafaela saw it and beg to differ
  11. So glad Breslow traded the correct Raffy , so we could keep the one that wins ballgames with his bat and glove/arm. 9 outs to end the run to the A-S break with blazing saddles
  12. With 2 outs , WTF was Mayer thinking, steal home ? Gift run but that is all it takes, after Rays blunder away a run
  13. Coming into the Rays series, I would have been OK with a 2-2 split, 3-1 would have been terrific, but a good shot at a sweep of the Rays--priceless ! Brayan gets to refine his daytime pitching again. If he can throw strikes like last outing, he can prevail. Hitters need to load up and wallball a few.
  14. What time does the game start today? Crochet will show he's no ace and it will be a 12-11 slugfest , I'm sure Neither team can play defense and other than Rafaela's blind squirrel HR last night , runs are scarce. Don't know what game you guys are commenting on, like it already happened.
  15. They have a backup catcher, but we need one who can actually hit too. Unless Bernie was crossing up Narvaez on his pitch selection, I cannot imagine why he tried to backhand those sweepers. Particularly the second one 3 gift runs
  16. Did the clock strike midnight and the express train that was the Sox turned into a pumpkin ? Terrible inning . Still winnable but some hitters need to show up besides Cedanne
  17. Yoshida was on base too much and had to run further than his penguin legs could carry him. Shades of Ron Cey
  18. Max, do I detect a whiff of .....sarcasm in your denigration of AC ? Or did you hire Splendid Splinter as your ghostwriter. AC is just fine as the 6 win streak will attest, at least , until he loses the Rays games with poor decissions.
  19. Very glad Yoshida came out hot to stifle the question as to why Cora is playing him,. Breslow is smiling from ear to ear as Yoshi's BTV soars.
  20. I do appreciate that Venezuelan Carlos Narvaez does not need an interpreter to have a conversation with TC . You get the actual enthusiasm and thoughts of the player. I know just enough Spanish to know that the Sox interpreter does filter and edit what the guys are saying, mostly to simplify it .
  21. When we are in the dogdays of late August, keep these last 6 games in memory for a feel good moment.
  22. Another out of synch observation... I am sure Casas will be at Ft Myers come next February but I doubt he will be on the opening day lineup and possibly not on the MLB active roster.
  23. I am sure the 6 game streak and mighty offense is blinding me, but it seems the players are having fun and functioning or relating in a team mode. Coincidence it occurs after Devers left ? Probably or it could be playing teams like the Nats and Rockies.
  24. Notable that I. Campbell is no better now than before. This key game is too close to screw around.
  25. Mayer seems to be "still " also, but does he hit anything other than ground balls ? Needs to work on launch angle, so he can K more in line with Sox hitting philosophy .
