    There was some talk yesterday when MC did get a couple hits that he had shortened his swing to make some contact. That beneficial adaptation seems to be missing today.

    If you are a HAMMER, everything looks like a nail to be pounded, especially high FB's.. Yes , Jung, that swing was readable by anyone caring to notice, such as a Boston hitting coach or a 20/200 umpire.

    Yes, very possible, but it does get you a one game play-in with either the Yankees or Rays at their place, right? Why bother---because it's baseball and anything can happen.

    Walden insures that there will be no shot at a comeback. The low payroll Rays could teach JH some basics about baseball that his empty farm system cannot. On the other hand 4 rings in 14 years cures a lot of ills. Why so hard to remain competitive ??

    How is a lineup with Chavis, travis, Nunez, and JBJr, forget Leon, going to beat a top shelf pitcher like Snell. The weak bench, loss of Pedroia as a significant player and poor performances by the #1 and 32 hitters in the lineup have sunk this leaky submarine.

    With Moreland, Pearce, JD Martinez, Pedey and Tsu Wei Lin all on the IL, the Sox cannot get the expected lineup on the field. OK , forget Lin and Pedey that was a joke.

    Since Cora is managing the A-S game, I would expect to see Nunez somewhere around.

    I was hoping Barnes could get through an inning with about 15 pitches so he might be available again tomorrow in the dream that the Sox will beat Snell. But it's looking more like a more typical 20+ pitch event

    Why Workman vs the #8-9-1 hitters in lieu of Walden ??

    Price and Sale make a formidable 1-2 in the rotation . Porcello is much more the #3-4 type. Erod is a 5. Maybe Eovaldi can bridge Porcello and Erod. Overall it's a decent rotation.
