  1. More f'ing curveballs with no chance
  2. Sale is a groundball from getting out of this. Do it.
  3. Sale, stunned by the run support, loses all focus and command. Nearing 90 pitches and in trouble in the 6th. Not all that wonderful. I do think Sale can get rattled from time to time
  4. Not the damage JBJr may have wanted but when you are going good, even outs can be very productive. Now for Leon's contribution.
  5. An improved, controllable swing by Chavis results in another hit. ready for a really big inning to back sale.
  6. Let's see---Holt or Nunez ?? Nunez or Holt ??--- AC, take Holt until he proves otherwise.
  7. Red Sox MVP 2019--Xander all day
  8. Angels already beat the Rays, so you think that fact would warm up the dugout chatter to pick up another game on the tailpipes in front of you.
  9. Just tuned in from running errands but immediately see the support for Sale is somewhat typical. Usually we get him one or two. As mentioned, the team likes to wait until the oppo BP is in play. Sometimes Chris isn't there to benefit stat-wise
  10. Between 4 to 8 seasons further on, only Porcello still dealing for the Sox. The only dead money left is Pablo for another 3.5 months, to be replaced at lesser cost by Pedroia next few contract years. Risks for future dead money may include Eovaldi and Sale if arms/shoulders go bad. JBJr's final arb year negotiation will be interesting to see if the Sox value him at $9MM or more. Also at question would be a QO for Porcello, if extension never materializes.
  11. Talksox commenters need to reconsider the true value of Erod. He's our winningest pitcher, the team wins most times he strats, even if Ed doesn't get the win, He's leading tonight, holding the O's to one run in half of a Quality Start. What's not to like ?
  12. i actually wondered how they travel between Boston and Pawtucket. I suspect they drive their own cars, and DD meets them at the gate with paperwork for 3 day parking in a nearby garage.
  13. With Erod's and luis Ortiz's "command/control" this game could set the time record (longest) for a 9 inning game.
  14. Rodriguez shakes his head after hitting Davis ? I've been shaking mine wondering why he is pitching
  15. Even when Cora plays Holt, nice HR BTW, he still DH's Nunez
  16. I don't think Erod could have centered that slop up any better if he had a laser survey instrument and an adjustable tee stand
  17. Maybe if it was hockey
  18. Is Heath Hembree's 10 day IL for right forearm strain/right elbow the warning sign for UCL problems??
  19. Sam Travis, the quintessential AAAA'er, who has not shown enough to eventually crack the Red Sox lineup or bench for a season. May or may not be of interest to any other team. Sam may have to make a career decision in a year or two. Won't be the first nor last to almost get there, not unlike a Swihart or Brentz.
  20. That was a win that counted. I guess they all do. The much maligned BP gave up a big zero over 7.2 innings, while Price blew lunch
  21. Big win, coming from behind, Smith gets it done. HR's and JBJr gets it done.
  22. Looks very safe, but hope not
  23. yeah, I've been drinking heavily too since about April 1.
  24. Maybe Hembree is ill. Wearing the warmup jacket
  25. But a blow nonetheless. Score one. Enjoying your good stuff.
