    Helps with the OBP which in turn helps the OPS which in turn helps the 2021 contract negotiations. But much better than an out. Not Mookie's fault, but leaving an opening double from JBJr at second is a real shame in a tie game.

    For all the joking about the relationship between Cora and Nunez, it is actually amazing Alex's reliance on a marginal guy. But look at the whole bench especially with Moreland/pearce out of the picture.

    Agreed. We will need him as the closer later when the pen runs dry in extras. But I hope neither occurs.

    On a personal level, i never advocated releasing him. I think they would need to get some discernable value for him. he was shopped this ST, and no one valued him enough to make a deal. I do think he will be shopped heavily, probably as a package before they pay him $9MM for 2020

    Walden with no third out approach. Look out below. Sticking with my theory---If your reliever gets to 20 pitches, often bad things happen. 2 strikes, 2 outs, we are in deep trouble

    Two concerns from tonight's game: 1. AC has used 4 relievers already with a little more than 3 innings left to go. If this goes extras, god forbid, we could see nunez as the closer. 2. In completed business; Shawaryn, Brewer, and lakins walked 5 guys in 3.2 innings. But they held the run total to the 6. One more , Walden just gave up a 2 out hit. That can be a worry

    Held them to 6 into the second. Barnes gets a win last night on a walking walkoff , over Porcello's gem, Price totally bombs and is now off the hook. Our sabermetricians are correct. W-L for pitchers is a meaningless stat on its own.

    This game now is another winnable game, still needs some runs though, where the bullpen has so far rescued one of the worst starts by Price. A winning team at home will find a way to pull it out. Let's see what happens. Will require a continued super effort from the pen.

    That's a keeper, SS. Steven Wright/Wrong may be the hero of the second half out of the pen, then can't pitch in the play-in game. Gotta love irony.

    Excellent point. We are actually getting something a little better than the cost. A victory for the FO plan to dance with the ones what won the WS, less the closer and the guy who can't pitch in LA. BTW, it was Joe Kelly bobblehead night for teh Dodgers.
