  1. Hernandez could not get around quick enough to pull the ball , as shown on a couple foul balls. These are AAAA'ers competing at the highest level. WTF did you expect ? Basic skill sets ?
  2. Mostly because last night seemed to be a confirmation of season long tendencies: losing record at Fenway, losing record vs teams above .500, bad baseball luck (3 run HR by the pole), fielding issues, lack of timely hitting (RISP), short run by the starting pitching followed by a good run through the bullpen only to finally succumb to the weakest link in the bullpen, essentially lose to a bases loaded walk , solo HR's not 3 run jacks, etc. This game had it all and displayed to all observers what has happened all year. In reality with 69 games to go, the Sox need a 40-29 record to hit 90 wins, 18 below last year's record. I don't think the evidence is there to support 90 wins.
  3. BTW, Steven Wright may as well take a long draw on a natural gas pipeline as well after going once again on the IL after letting a shot hit him in the foot. What a waste of human protoplasm , only exceeded by the time Steve Pearce has spent IL'ing, and Mitch Moreland isn't far behind. These guys are in their 30's and contrary to popular belief, you do not need to be at 100% to play baseball at a decent level.
  4. Despite all my negativity, a sincere congrats to Benintendi for finding his arm and making a great throw to home to prolong the agony . First time in a while he showed a stronger arm. But the beard is a phony look for the matinee idol . And the f***ing neckwear looked like a pearl necklace on him.
  5. 12 hits, 6 walks and 2 Dodger errors to score a total of 4 runs---inexcusable. 2 more SOLO HR's vs a 3 run bloop to the Pesky Pole area. When this type of game happens to your team, don't expect much of a turnaround. They are jinxed this year.
  6. If your season comes down to hector Velasquez's ability to pitch, you are already dead in the water. Just another gutless f*** trying to hang on. Watching Cora at the dugout corner watching Hector go up in flames was priceless. The bullpen completely torched because of the failure of another starter (Price ) to go even 6 innings . The 3 run HR was very bad luck, the cheapest HR in the majors, but it still counted. When hitters like Devers, JDM and Bogaerts fail to come through with the game on the line MULTIPLE times, maybe it is time to say we need to relook at this team, yet again. Andrew Cashner is fine as the #4 pitcher to finish the season but Andrew better not hope for a playoff situation because it will not happen this year.
  7. Well he is a starter in 2019 WTF do you expect ?
  8. Douchebag, Dilbert and Dumbass
  9. I was thinking that, but right now he's our "ACE"
  10. Nice bouncer JBJ but Ryu just beats him to the base. That 1 run differential may loom large later. Vaz not being quick enough to score from second a ground ball single to right hurt.
  11. I do not have the stats but it sure feels that way. I hope the souvenir sucking jackass that got the ball, denying Mookie a 2% chance at it, is happy with his new toy.
  12. As Bruce Buffer likes to say, IIIIIIt's Time !!! The Sox are up against a master left hander today in RYU, and are pitching our own best shot in David " Big Game" Price . Win a series at home against a top contender for this year's WS or lose a series at home, clinging to the WC #2 hopes. Losing on a night when the Rays and Yankees lost doesn't move the needle or announce that the second half will be any different than the first. Why would you expect a few days off in July to remake a team that has wandered and stumbled through 92 games and are actually out of the playoffs today ?
  13. That is not an outrageous idea. At least Chris would get to the 6th
  14. Max, I share your pain. I think we all need to get over this ACE business and recognize that Sale is not contributing to a second half comeback. he couldn't finish 2018, and didn't need him, except to screw Machado into the ground. Call him the #5 pitcher and have no expectations. The batters need to take some credit for lack of support too.
  15. Can't wait for him to express his regrets about his performance and swear that he must get better . Porcello may lend Chris his standard speech. The umpire was atrocious but so were the Sox hitters
  16. No worries , the stats clearly support the superiority of Leon catching Sale ! What the stats and analytics don't account for is that Sale has lost whatever abilities he had to get guys out after he has 2 strikes on them
  17. Sale is at his s*** the pants moment. Did he bring any buttwipe with him ?
  18. I used to enjoy watching JDM hit. Now it seems he can't drive an inner half 89-90 mph FB and takes a pitch, like Mookie he should have slammed to RF.
  19. His necklaces break his concentration. He is gutless taking a 3rd strike.
  20. Once again on a pace for 5 innings assuming he gets lucky ending the first.
  21. Glad that Sale is so freakin good that hustle doesn't need to be part of his deal
  22. Just keeping Thunder Thighs out of the way of the top of lineup guys.
  23. This will be an ACE or an ASS game for Sale. Can't hold anything back at this point. Either Chris can bring something to the upcoming run for the playoffs or he is a variety of sourdough toast.
  24. This is the key to the season. By July 31, they are either moving up or heading south. Playing teams ahead in the standings and trying to make up April lost ground.
  25. Just try winning a lot of games through July 31 vs top competition ( excluding Jays/O's). Then we might have a good fight on for AL East or WC #1 or #2. Just don't take it for granted yet that the Sox have won anything
