  1. The game is pretty much lost already due to Pivetta's HR gifts including an ironic 2 run job by Hunter Renfro ( his 19th ??) . Still very winnable game if you score more than 4.
  2. It's never too late, LOL. I'll post it now
  3. One reason for not waiting until the actual deadline, except for playing poker with the other GM, is that I believe MLB players have 3 days to report after a trade. If a team is buying to fill a need, then that is 3 more games the desired player is not available. Many of these WC potential teams will finish the year wishing they had won 1 or 2 or 3 more games earlier. Fortunately the Sox won't be among them, so we can be patient with our pickups , if any.
  4. Just a quick thought on reading the updates about Story's ongoing lack of recovery from the hand injury. The notes say the injury occurred when the pitch hit him in the hand AS HE WAS swinging at it. Do you need to know more about this guy? I'll go 50-50 he will need surgery and miss the rest of this year. Not in a good mood over this current bunch.
  5. Good point. It looks like a commitment to a 10 year homegrown player, good for PR value. Then if Bogaerts exercises his option and goes elsewhere, it will be on him for abandoning another 3 years in Boston paying multi-millions. If Bogaerts somehow chose to stay he eventually becomes a DH in his final couple years
  6. You can talk all day about building the farm system, depth, injuries, etc. When the Sox incurred numerous injuries in early July, there was nothing in the cupboard or the clubhouse. NOTHING that could come forward and help. They are not fielding a team that can compete and the record shows what the are. Last place AL East. Bloom is off the rosebush, friends
  7. The utter worse pitch selection discipline ever. Tired of hearing the excuses. These stiffs don't know how to approach hitting.
  8. Jaylen Davis been watching JDM's videos and knows his moves
  9. Dalbec looked at the calendar and said , "it's almost August ! If I trick these fans into thinking I can hit, then I'm good for another year ."
  10. Now you PH Refsnyder ? Nice work, AC
  11. Dugo had the runner out at home by 5', if our backup catcher could catch the hop instead of his matador sweep
  12. And to think we still have to endure another third of the season with this slop
  13. Tells you all you need to know that Sawamura is the choice out of the BP in a winnable game, so he just pushes the W further away. A pig of a pitcher
  14. Thoroughly done with JDM. Not one hit since July 15 and will be hitting .275 by 6PM August 2. Some lucky GM is welcome to him
  15. If JDM wants a slump buster, this is his shot. Now Cora pulls his one of his few guys who can hit for a runner, instead of having sent Duran. Beginning to think AC is an idiot
  16. How about another piece of magic from Bogey ?
  17. Duran not running gets erased taking the speed off the bases. The pressure of carrying this team continues to fall on Vaz and Dugo, pretty unfair.
  18. Steamers were out of vogue long before Bob Stanley picked up a ball against the Mets
  19. Every hitter in the Brew crew lineup has an OPS in the mid .700s. The Sox AAAA lineup has 6 batters below .700 But I'm sure the Brewers are spending in the mid-$250 millions on this team.
  20. Suddenly Bra-man is Rivera, except for Yelich, the only one that mattered
  21. Bill B came at the end of a string of mental and physical mistakes, and weak pitching that led to the loss. Grabbing that grounder was no assurance of an actual out at 1B.
  22. Because Cora hates Refsnyder. Not one of his butt boys
  23. This is quite true. Cora should tie a string from the end of his bat to his balls and he'll quite swinging at trash pitches soon enough
  24. Incredibly stupid AB by a true nobody
  25. Bobby Doerr was an exceptional person beyond the ballpark, and pretty fair on the field too.
