  1. JEE Whiz, Jeter got the Jitters
  2. Play guys that know the angles on the pool table. THAT was not a hard play---Take one step to the right and then throw. Chapman was would have been out
  3. Sawamura is another journeyman hack, always need a few to fill out the pen. He doesn't need to go to the mouth for slick'em. It in his hair that he keeps looping over his ear. He wipes it off on his pants before the ump check , if he ever actually finishes an inning
  4. Verdugo shows his biggest weakness, reaching for an outside pitch to roll it over into a simple grounder to second. When he takes that pitch to left field he does well.
  5. Definitely an odd situation. I hope it is because Refsnyder told him his leadership sounded like banging a trashcan lid
  6. You can't spell Duran without the capital D , lol.
  7. The main reason I don't think ( no preference either way) Cora will be dismissed now is that his contract expires this year. The team has the options, not Alex. I do not think you will see him back for 2023 barring some incredible turnaround
  8. One thing I notice about Xander is that he shows up every day and plays the game. I think his skills are on a long term downtrend and hope he gets paid bigtime by an unwary GM. But I give X big credit for playing hard despite the situation around him
  9. It is honestly like watching the keystone Cops on defense
  10. Agreed. On Tapia's triple, the shift was still on with the bases refilled. The shift had nothing to do with the outcome of his sharply hit ball to RCfield, but you have to have great faith, almost religiously, the play the percentages loss after loss. But that's why the casinos win year after year, and they are glad that you win just enough to keep bringing back new money.
  11. One positive that is evident in this series is that the exclusive jeweler/necklace vendor in the Sox clubhouse is doing very well. I guess in some shithole 3rd world countries wearing your money is the best way to both show it and keep it.
  12. Congrats, you have successfully f***ed this game and series sweep into Toronto's hand. Bello may not deserve all this
  13. f***ing shift, and a real asswipe in LF. Behind again in the first, game virtually over. How are these young pitchers , who do have some talent, expected to become confident playing with these jackoffs/
  14. Bello is better off with the bases loaded than 2/3rd so at least a ground ball gives them a chance at 2. Great K on Teo. Let's see if he can pitch with 2 outs, the real test
  15. Our opponents get the most out of the weakest and luckiest hit balls , which we rarely seem to enjoy. Bello about to be fully tested
  16. Ace Cora's contract ends this year . Only the Club holds options for '23/'24 so they don't need to fire him. I believe he's a deadman walking. The players will know that too.
  17. Speaking of Sale, try this on for size . His surgically repaired little finger will recover in terms of the fracture, although knowing sale it will take longer than expected, maybe all the way until it's time to go to Toronto again .OOPS, not allowed in. The finger and joint will be stiff and probably sensitive, like Chris himself. Although gripping the ball to pitch a FB, slider, etc doesn't normally involve the little finger, it does affect the change up grip. Chris will be concious of the finger and make some modification of his throwing and not be the same Freak we all know and love. To me he is already effectively out for the balance of '22 . The question will remain whether he will be any part of the pitcher he once was in '23. OR could Chaim find a GM who would take Sale for next year ( now or over the winter) and pay us off with a starter and position player of some skill ? Or is 2 more years of dead money with this guy?
  18. Look at the dead money once again , I consider Sale's 2022 money as dead as David Price's final year. That's pretty close to $47 million for pitching that that didn't happen in Boston. They truly need to clear the decks through the end of this year.
  19. 0-11-1 in the division this year, 3-12 in last 15 , just no end to this tunnel of losses. I think there is a realistic chance that Cora goes out with the selloff of barn wood. Maybe give the remnants to TEK for the remainder of the season just to get their attention.
  20. Refsnyder must have said something to Cora , and Alex said go home , you're not needed today.
  21. When Brasier reached 20 pitches, the end was nigh, wherever nigh is. A stupid pickoff attempt was pointless
  22. The only thing that doesn't stop scoring for these guys
  23. i don't think other teams would even take some of our guys as throw-ins in a multi-player trade. We will have to carry some of them through August-September and cut them next ST.
  24. Franchy could do us a favor and let Cimber hit him instead of vice versa Instead he of course K's. Now about 0-last 20
  25. Vaz, Dugo and Bogaerts are the Sox best chance to comeback in this fully winnable game. Let's see if they can do it. The 9th inning doesn't offer much if these 3 can't get it going
