I think we keep hoping against reality that somehow 6PM August 2 that the Sox will get 3 new slugging hitters and 2 starting pitchers, with about 60 games left to bail out the season.
Here's reality, at best incoming players will be prospects for '23 and beyond. Maybe 1 throw-in veteran OF'er? And if someone has you believing that on August 2 you will get the IL list cleared for action, the only good news i see is that Devers should be back, but probably JDM gone ( not that it matters recently). Rich Hill pitching in Houston doesn't warm me up. Sale and Story are not back for all of August, if then. Taylor is done for the year (IMO). Paxton needs a ST. This team is more likely to go 20-40 over the last 60 than 30-30.
