  1. You could have inserted Red for White in your second sentence and not been far off.
  2. OK, Duvall may be back. Beni may have had that if he was younger
  3. Here's a question ---- The talk about Story coming back possibly in July as a hitter before his return to the field (SS or 2B) in August is problematic. If Story can only DH for a few weeks, then who sits , Turner ( not likely ), Casas (why), Yoshi ( for a guy coming off DL mid season?) . Moon has played with many lineup variations in Forum threads but I do not see how Story fits in as a DH. Plus , as we see with Duvall's return, you don't just step in and be productive out of the gate after 8-9 months of inaction and limited reps. Story should only be back when he can bat and field.
  4. Kike keeping the line moving, setting up Caleb's GS. Actually now this Hamilton is 1 for 19 in MLB action.
  5. The gap from AAA pitching to MLB is apparent in some AAAA players
  6. Give Yoshi some sliding mittens
  7. Duvall looking like JDM with a double to right center. Really hoping he wasn't an 8 day wonder in April
  8. So much for waltzing through the weak AL Central
  9. Duvall 3 for 22 with 10K's over past 7 games. He's in ST and not catching up to mid-season speed
  10. Got it, Turner is a hitter
  11. Once again, just a single or error
  12. Getting a little short on time/outs now
  13. Sometimes you just need a single or a throwing error . Pick up the Duran run, please
  14. Turning it around with a hit to give them a shot at tying things back up
  15. Casas shows the power to go with his plate discipline and continues to get better as a run producer. Great way to regain the lead.
  16. Washed up hack departs the playing field
  17. You are right. I completely forgot it was the Red Sox lineup against Lynn. Talkabout some "hacks"
  18. Winckowski has done this more than once
  19. Cora made an interesting comment on Paxton in the pregame. he indicated that Paxton's durability and workload was a primary concern so the plan was to get him rest and start vs Toronto next Friday.
  20. Duran needs to run on the ChiSox
  21. Got the lead on Devers hit and hustle. Let's shut the White Sox out and call it a win.
  22. Sox go out on 9 pitches in the first . But no K's !
  23. From the echo chamber, that DP started by Wong was the best possible choice and outcome. I noted in that thread that his reaction to the ball dribbled in front of the plate was extremely quick. Recall all the early analytic work on McGuire , Wong in comparison to Vaz with many splits and pitcher lists . I think the subsequent evidence is clear that Wong is the superior catching talent . We need to see if C Hamilton can show anything positive , but McGuire certainly could be on the trade block in a deal that includes another back up catcher. McGuire has gone from a positive bat/ weak arm catcher to being unable to hit, plus the IL stint . He has a negative bWAR and 80 OPS+.
  24. Note that Yu Chang also broke his hamate on an exaggerated swing and miss that has now led to missing the rest of the season. I say that because I think Hamilton's very early skill set showing would favor Ham over Yu's goose eggs, for the utility infielder position .
  25. Please don't take game thread trash talk too seriously , although I know you are a serious guy. Check back after 2 innings and if the Sox are 0-6 with 4 k's, the misnomer 'hack" will be with drawn. You can't catch a fish without throwing out some bait !
